I put a new head unit in my 2010. Has CarPlay and backup camera hookup. Planning on getting the tailgate camera soon. Goes nicely with the two 12s under the backseat lol. 6da1df4c42c64ae77bef9b522aa2bf20.jpg

Friend of mine just put one of those in his 05 Titan. For the money they are hard to beat!

What did I do this week, well... I purchased my first Ram ever. Picked up a 2016 SLT Quad Cab 4x4, 5.7L. So far I love it, but this ECO mode on the engine is a bit to get used to with a MagnaFlow muffler on it and 35-inch tires. Coming out of a Tacoma regular cab, I kinda feel like I'm driving a semi truck around!

Congrats on the new truck!!....and welcome to tha forum......use the gear shift on the steering wheel & keep it in 8 .....

They really are! I was looking at a Pioneer 1400NEX and a nicer Alpine system but when I saw this one I just couldn’t turn it down. All I really wanted was CarPlay so I’m extremely pleased. Pairs nicely with the rest of my system.

Took it back to the dealer for the 6th time to probably NOT get it fixed again. Thinking about sending it to the crusher and using whatever comes out to make lemonade and margaritas.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me.
Last week, I replaced the upper ball joints that came installed in the Ready Lift upper control arms. The boots split open and the grease was leaking out.

Also, the passenger side strut was leaking so I replaced both sides with OEM struts. When I installed the Ready Lift 4” level kit, I didn’t plan on having to replace the struts but had to go buy some at a local parts store in a hurry. All that was available were Monroe ready struts (complete assembly) They’re junk and lasted a year like I hesitantly expected.
Then, I took it to the dealer for an alignment.

This past weekend, I scraped all the rust off that was all over my Westin step bars. I contacted Westin to try to get them replaced under warranty but all I got from them was crickets. The rust was bubbling up under the paint and all around the welds. I also ordered a new hardware & bracket kit because the old ones looked like they came off the Titanic.

I’m no genius, but the extent of the rust under the paint and around the welds tells me it was a defective paint job. I have to assume they’re using cheap Chinese steel to make their stuff also. If they had been damaged and paint was scraped off, etc then I’d expect them to get some rust on them. But, that wasn’t the case. Anyway, I took it upon myself to scrape & sand and coat them heavily with Rustoleum Rust Reformer. After the coats dried, I sprayed a top coat of Rustoleum Bed Liner spray. They turned out pretty good I think. Hopefully it holds up. I also coated the new brackets in Rust Reformer as a preventative measure.

After that, I replaced the front 4WD actuator. 4 low was a no-go. It would shift into 4WD lock fine, but not 4 low. All
fixed now. While I was under there, I think I discovered that either my power steering lines are leaking, or, the rack & pinion is leaking. Sigh. I’ll take a closer look this weekend.

No rest for the wicked.

$57 mannal on eBay, all top notch quality. I pulled out every screw to align and red loctite, but they already were proactive and had done so. The flapper fit is 99.9% sealed when closed, the only variable will be motor longevity but it functions extremely well. I cleaned up a couple minor burrs from the coining process but I’m OCD like that. One touch both ways fully open and closed on the Bluetooth

Link, please? Wonder what this would sound like on an EcoD?

Ordered these OEDRO running boards that will be delivered tomorrow. Plan on getting them installed Saturday as long as the weather clears up.

Found a great deal on new bilstein 5100’s and rough country UCA’s that a guy wouldn’t be using so I jumped on it. Don’t think I’ll use the UCA’s though since I’m just leveling at 2.1” and they’re angled for 3” lift.
