I just bought a 2016 2500 w/Cummins 6.7 & Factory Gooseneck Prep.

I want to tow a 5th wheel but not sure what i need to complete the setup.

I had no idea there were so many 5th wheel hitches but it is not clear to me what i need.

Do you have the fiver prep which has the four "puck" mounts in the bed? There is a gooseneck prep that only has two. How long is your bed? With a 6.4' bed you'll most likely need a slider type fifth wheel hitch.

If you have the puck system we will only use the BW Companion hitches at work. They're great, never had an issue with any customers who've gotten them. They also make a slider version if you have the short box.
That's not to say that a different brand wouldn't be good, I just have no experience with others.

I have a curt A25, way overkill for my truck but I like how the head can articulate side to side more than some other hitches, I take my trailer sand camping and having that extra movement helps from putting twisting stress on the pin box and frame.

i have the "fiver" prep

In that case you have a variety of brands to choose from and all will use the factory 4 puck system. Mopar makes their own, though I'm sure its rebranded as such.

I have a B&W companion that works with their own gooseneck and it's a solid, well built hitch. Heavy, but very strong. You can get the companion for the factory system as mentioned above.

I haven't seen the B&W for Ram trucks in person, but it looks ridiculously overbuilt (which is good!). I've done some investigating and noticed that the base ALONE weighs as much as the entire assembly for a Ford.

That said, I can attest to the B&W Turnover Ball and Companion Hitch being a great setup - my dad bought one for his F450 years ago and it has held up amazingly well. It is easy to use, easy to adjust, and pretty simple to install - much easier if you take the head off, install the base, then reinstall the head (which only takes a couple seconds with the oversized hitch pins they're built with).

Some people swear by Reese, some swear by Curt. Both are good hitches. A few swear by Husky, another great hitch but pricey considering it's very similar to both Reese and Curt. But I've never seen a hitch built as stout as the B&W.

I really like my B&W Slider hitch. As mentioned above very sturdy hitch but very heavy too! I personally like getting most of my trailer items at etrailer.com. Very knowledgeable guys on there. Tell them what you got, & they will show you several choices of what you can use. Prices are very good as well.
