We are happy to announce the newest addition to our product lineup, the XDP Wrinkle Black HD High Output Alternators.

Diesel trucks are one of the most popular platforms for enthusiasts to modify. Aftermarket add-ons such as on-board air compressors, off-road lighting, as well as upgraded stereo systems can be extremely taxing on your electrical system. The charging system is often times the one item that gets overlooked.
The XDP HD Series High Output Alternators offer increased amperage to help remove the strain on the charging system. The additional amps boost your charging system, so it has the capability to handle whatever you throw at it!

That is a pretty strong claim, 195 amp output at idle, the factory 220 amp alternator outputs about 140 amps at 75 degrees F at idle of 600 RPMs. The factory alternator is overdriven by 3.22:1.

I would like to see a graph of alternator output versus alternator shaft speed and the alternator's pulley ratio.

If the claims are true, this would make a nice replacement alternator when the time comes.

From the upfitters guide.

In practical use, the Mopar alternator is probably closer to 120 amps at idle. The alternator is not at 75 degrees Fahrenheit for very long after engine start.
