Okay, let's look at a few things. You can't get it to fire up and you said it backfires and this is after a mechanical timing repair.

The first thing I would do is perform a compression test to verify cylinder integrity.

Next I would perform a cylinder leakdown test.

When you were working on the timing setup did you replace the complete assembly with three new chains, all of the guides and two new oil pressure tensioners?

Did you reset the tensioners before installation?

How did you line up your timing marks?

You've gotten good advice prior to me. I'd say let's too back up.

Ensure you're at Top Dead Center (TDC). Then recheck - installation, timing chain, distributor, cam/crank sensors.

It sounds like you're off timing - sput and sputtering. I know what I'm suggesting is tons of work.... Again, not starting sand or back fire can really only be many things. Due to what you've replaced, the is the direction I'd go.

You could have bad coil packs, poorly connected plug boots... But I'll put a coke on timing is off

Holler, I'm happy to help...

Ok so I did break it down to timing issue earlier and I fixed that so I thought but maybe not I mean there is only 3 drastically major gears to have perfectly line up properly the crank pulley at 6 o'clock and the cam sprocket both V8 symbols at 12 o'clock which leaves the center idle sprocket at 22 o'clock so where does that leave me still with something wrong in that timing chain issue. Would not think that after working on engines for 30+ years I would screw the chain up but like the ppl on hear who have been an incredible help I gotta go back to square #1 and follow step and maybe I missed something if I switched a couple of wires around would that help or break it down I mean #1coil plug wire hooked to plug #3 and so on?

Myself and my crew have been working fighter jet for decades too. All of us miss something at times.

For me I'd verify TDC with either a plug Gage or my finger in #1 cyn. I wouldn't put that much faith into anything other then knowing for sure.

Your chain might be right, but the cam sensors could be off...

Engines only need 3 things to run.
Fuel, spark and reasonable timing.
I agree with previous help you got. And I've been playing with engines for 45 yrs. I still have episodes of dopeyness. :)

I too used to say stuff like this, until my Wife pointed out
that Jesus was Perfect and I ain't Jesus.

Turns out she was rgiht and it was some ridiculous boneheaded brain dead mistake.
Worst part, she was right there when I realized what I had done and spoke it out loud.

Point being, less you walk on water, don't assume, and when you do figure it out, keep your mouth shut.

You are all right and when your working in the freezing cold things tend to be not going so good you want things to go fast or be warmer but instead they go slower and colder it was getting warmer here when I started but as many of you know its not a one day job so as next day came it got colder then snowed and again snowed and even colder and now it's 20 below and I'm trying to find the fast and simple way to at least get it running so I can find a heated shop to take it too as I'm not a fan of cold bolts and fingers .
