2016 Laramie 4x4 CC short bed, currently at 64K. Passenger side exhaust manifold swapped out at 30K (studs failed). Rear axle fragged (right side outer bearing failed and metal bits made it to the pumpkin) at 34K - completely rebuilt under warranty. Driver's side exhaust manifold swapped out at 55k (studs failed, not sure why they didn't just knock it out with the passenger side!).

Still, despite the pains, I love the truck. It is a pleasure to drive, more comfortable (and quiet inside) than my wife's Mazda CX-9 SUV. Just a thirsty bugger!

Pretty much any vehicle will last as long as you keep sinking money into it. Just depends on what amount you consider to be reasonable.

2013 Ram 1500 sport, purchased in January of 2013, I've got 220371km on her now. No major issues, had to replace the touch screen, went completely black one day, brakes a few times, very happy with it

Hey Kalbo - just wondering did you have an extended warranty? Seems like FCA did pretty good by you.

Thanks,

Joe

Actually, the original 100K drive train warranty covered everything. Probably in my favor, ALL maintenance had been completed on time by FCA dealers. Really, really got lucky.

AND, to answer your question, I do have the million mile warranty. So, it is a no brainer to keep. Or so I think

2014 Big Horn Hemi with 92K miles
in the shop with a howling rear-end diff...
bearings spalled, needs rebuilt... rear end oil changed at 55K
have no idea why it died on me
I do tow a 5,000# trailer about 40% of the time, well within the specs of this truck
disappointed this happened at this time... considering a Jasper rebuilt rear end to maintain a quiet comfortable drive experience on long interstate trips. Been a good truck until now... except for that fuel sender failure at 60K miles I am now taking care of, and that manifold bolt that was covered under warranty 2 years ago, oh and that NAV radio failure it took $300 to repair last summer... and I am now out of warranty

134k on my 2014 5.7 4x4

new exhaust manifold bolts at 105k (some have already failed again!)

new passenger side cylinder head at 33k, under warranty due to failed valve seat.

New front right brake caliper at 40k due to seizing.

New front right brake caliper at 55k due to replacement unit seizing.

New front right and left calipers due to right side caliper seizing at 100k. Replaced both units with Callahan units, good so far.
new exhaust manifold bolts at 105k (some have already failed again!)

New water pump at 132k due to leak at seal.

Certainly makes noises it didn’t used to: exhaust rattles, rear end howls, seatbelt and airbag light frequently. Overall a great daily driver.

At 86k had to replace manifold bolts. At 95k wiring problems started. 100k pcv valve went *****. 140k leaky oil valve seal (that hurt) Except for wiring gremlin it runs great.

So I'm just wondering how my 2015 1500 is going to hold up over time. I plan on keeping it till it's done. Right now I have 83,000 miles on her and she's running great. How bout you?

Thanks,

Joe

68k on my 2016. Purchased it with 41k. A few problems w leaking gaskets etc. mounts for fog lights fell apart, leaks at rear back up light, cheap factory bed liner, all repaired on my nickle because the dealership is just a total pain to deal with! I'm to the point I think they are putting too much crap on these trucks (all manufacturers included). What ever happened to just a good ol' reliable truck without all the bells and whistles that would last. (Merle Haggard... wish a Ford and a Chevy would still last ten years like they should). Otherwise its ok besides the rust on the bumper breaking through the chrome. Its just a truck...

39k on my '16 Big Horn. 3 recalls were addressed. Nothing I noticed though. Had to install my own in cabin air filter with the Mopar kit (simple). The headend unit got bricked after I performed a software update 2 years ago but was replaced under warranty. Other then that, it runs like the day I got it in the fall of '15.

I bought a used 2008 with 94K and drove until 138K and gave it to my oldest son in 2012. He used it through college and is still driving it with 191,000K. I bought a new 2012 4x4 and put 122K, with a lot of trailer miles was working great when. I traded up for a new 2016 Laramie Limited with the creature comforts. Currently, it has 82K and just changing oil, alignment, rotating, and new tires and the basic stuff air filters and such. I forgot to mention the used Dakota 4.7 that I bought for one of my other sons that has 142K on it!
