Permanently MUTE voice on Nav 8.4

I really need to find a way to mute the voice guidance other than while driving and every trip having to go thru the ritual. I really wish it was like Garminw/an icon of a speaker: ON/OFF. Is there a way other than EACH drive cycle having to shut off the voice?

As soon as it comes on if you spin the volume down it'll kinda mute her. But if you go into nav menu you can change her settings.

I have the same question as CaptBill. I don't want to have to change the volume settings each trip. Is there a way to adjust the voice guidance volume permanently?

I do not have the nav setup in my car (I rely 100% on Waze/Apple Maps) however the radio was annoying me every time i turned on my car. I ended up just turning the dial down to mute on my radio, now when i start the car - no radio !

Not sure if that works for the navigation voice volume, hope this helps!

I have the opposite problem...when i use google maps or waze the voice is permanently on mute but the speakers are cutting out when the voice tries to chime in with directions but nothing comes out. i checked the volume and its all the way up....any ideas?
