I personally despise DRL modules. Never liked them. I run parking lights and fogs. There's no option for parking lights, and I tried changing it to fogs and it didn't work and after about 5 minutes of mulling it over I just disabled them altogether.

I'll be digging into much more later on. I also want to disable the seatbelt chime. I do some mild trails riding and I don't wanna be buckled in cause I sometimes lean out the window a bit or I'm moving around a lot and the seatbelt is restrictive to that sort of thing.

I will have a bunch of free time this weekend to peek into more modules and such so I'm sure I'll find what I'm looking for and then some.

The reverse chime I will have to try again. It's in two different locations on Alfa so I may just need one or the other or both off. It's been in and out and didn't work for awhile and recently came back and it's irritating as hell to me. Both of you I think hit this one spot on. Global down will be a nice touch come summer. Black trok, black interior, no tint. Yet.

Turn signals/parking lights are same thing on my truck, you can switch the location for my truck to them for DRL.

They are the same location but the signals use the brighter filament and it won't light the fogs.

Has anybody successfully used aftermarket lights with dedicated DRL's using the options thru Alfa? I have a set of Spyder headlights equipped with a LED DRL strip. I've dug around a bit in the menus and noticed a Dedicated DRL option, but wasn't sure how that circuitry would work. but my truck didn't originally come with DRLs, so I would love to be able to wire it to the fuse box somehow and then enable the option in Alfa and have it work as if it were factory, but I fear that won't be the case. I could always tap the DRL wiring into the signals, but I don't want the signals (or low beams for that matter) to be run as DRLs since I have switchbacks installed (I've read it keeps them amber instead of white).

Has anyone managed to change their tire size in an 06-08? All the dealerships around me have either broke their starscan tool or can't manage to get the size changed successfully. Last time I tried with Alfa it didn't stick

As far the reverse chime, turn it off, and then disconnect and turn everything off and then wait 30 minutes.

You can change the DRL location to the turn signals or high beams, rather than turning it completely off.

I believe the global down option is in the body computer. I think the option you're looking for is the window Express feature.

Still no luck on the reverse chime. Every attempt so far had a split second message flash while performing the action that I was only able to read once and it was something taking the lines of option not configured/available in this module. It would only pop on screen for a hot second at most. I still get the action/procedure completed message.

I also played with reading my DTCs and found a few, all relative to my low beams which are HIDs now. So I enabled that setting and none have come back. I also disabled the seatbelt chime (have yet to test) and poked around the other modules (abs/engine etc) just to see what parameters and diagnostic tests were available. I didn't alter anything in these modules as I have minimal knowledge on them currently and I don't want to brick my truck.

Still wondering if there is a way to reconfigure the stability control button to shut off traction control and ESP on long press. Nothing blatantly obvious but I haven't done a bunch of research on it yet either.

Being that my entire fleet of 3 is all can/bus mopars, this little app and the mx+ is going to save me a **** ton of money. I'm liking this little tool kit a lot so far. So much potential.

Smarty, Diablo and other programmers can. I believe AlfaOBD should be able to do it but haven't tried it. I had already done my 06 with a predator prior to get AlfaOBD but I did see the options to change it.

I am missing something. Please help!
I want to change my tire circumference to correct the speedometer. I now have 285/50-20, using 2419 as circumference. So far nothing has changed.
I have:
2012 Ram 1500
Android Galaxy S9+ with AlfaODB
ODBLink MX Bluetooth

I make a change and then back out of the AlfaODB program, shut off key, open door, wait at least 5 min before turning the truck back on. Also, when I press the START button it goes to NEXT then back instantly. No indication or lag that make me think it did anything. When I turn the truck back on, no change in the programming (still shows stock size 275/60-20) and no change in speedometer.

I have tried changing in the following locations:
RAM 1500 (DS/DX) > Body Computer > Central Gateway Module MY2006-12Non-PowerNet > Program Tire Size
RAM 1500 (DS/DX) > Body Computer > Central Gateway Module MY2006-12Non-PowerNet > Car configuration change > Vehicle Config 3: Tire Circumference

To try and see if I could make something change I tried to turn on the fog light dropout in the following location:
RAM 1500 (DS/DX) > Body Computer > Central Gateway Module MY2006-12Non-PowerNet > Car configuration change > Reconfigureable Parameters: Front Fog Lamp Dropout Enable > Set

The fog lights stay on with the high beams. I previously turned this option off to keep the fog lights on using a rented laptop with AE software.

Any help is appreciated.

I found the options to do, but they all read out "0" and when I changed them nothing happened. I'm guessing may just not be something AlfaOBD supports on the 3rd gens

It gives me an excuse to buy a tuner though. Honestly I'd get more of a boost from changing the tire size than I would getting a couple extra HP out of the sixer

You have to have the wireless ignition module in order to program a key with a fob.

I have the sentry ignition. After checking enabled features, it already has RKE and the other feature(I dont recall the lettering). I purchased the truck used a few years ago and finally decided to add the fob(something I probably should have included in my original post).

UPDATE:
I emailed AlfaODB and they sent me several different fixes with no luck. Still could not change any settings. They then had me try the Windows version. Still no luck so I unplugged my battery for a few hours. Bam! The Windows version now works great! Made the changes I needed. I went back to the Android version and still nothing. They sent me another fix but still nothing with Android. Still waiting for another fix but they have been very helpful and at least I have Windows working great.
If you have problems with nothing working try unplugging the battery and see if that works for you as well.

The blinkers on the side mirrors are in this thread. I swapped from basic sport mirrors to tow mirrors with puddle lamps and turn signals.

Somewhere on the google drive share referenced in the main AlfaOBD thread is a post with 2012 settings someone was able to do. Ignore the statement it only supports 2013+. I've actually used in on my '06 Charger R/T, works fine for all years.

Turn the key as far as it goes without starting the truck. This is called the Mar position.

Open AlfaOBD and complete the connection process.

Then...

SELECT CAR MODEL:
RAM 2500 (DJ/Dr)

SELECT FUNCTION:
BODY COMPUTER

SELECT CONTROL UNIT:
Central Gateway Module MY2006-12 Non-PowerNet

Select procedure to start:
"Car configuration change" (last option at the bottom of the menu)

Select option:
Reconfigurable Parameters: DRL Configuration (Set this to Canada)

Then...
Reconfigurable Parameters: DRL Lamp Location (Set this to Turn Signal DRL)

Exit the app.
Remove the key.
Start the truck.
Put the truck into R or D.
Enjoy the DRLs.

So this is 100% the process and I haven’t it activated, and with a kit it even lights up my mirror turn signal LEDs. I have an issue however, and wonder if anyone has a solution. I have MoriMoto switchbacks for turn signals/parking lamps up front. They work great white light when headlights are on (constant to marking light wire), amber when turn signal has flashes through turn signal wire. The DRL feature is activating the turn signal on a constant instead of through the flasher module, so it causes the led to be amber. Is there a way to get the DRL to activate the “parking lamp” wire so the DRL will be white instead of amber?

Also, does anyone know how to use Alfa to change the default setting for tow/haul mode and the turbo brake to in upon startup?

Additionally seen a lot of requests for the auto window down feature with the key fob; the double unlock and hold feature. I know I enabled windows down thing, and selected all windows instead of the default front two and no avail, is there an additional setting that needs to be enabled as well? Read a lot about this global down setting but it has not been adequately defined throughout the thread.

So after reading the entire thread, I believe what I’m asking isn’t possible with the AlfaOBD because it sends constant through the turn signal wire instead of parking lamp wire. Based on my understanding there has to be an additional tangible wire that bypasses that flasher relay/module to provide that constant to the “turn signal” wire. I essentially need to just reroute THAT wire to the parking light wire instead. Any one able to offer any insight to this or aware if I’m correct on the the tangibles of it?
