I am considering giving a REALLY low offer on a 2017 SXT..has no km's but has been sitting for years obviously. But...6 -speed,black, 3.92 gears.hmmm. Does have the hemi and a couple of options. Thinking of trying $20,000 Canadian... Worth it? Not sure. Would be via emial, phone etc.. they will deliver it for a test drive.

Good deal?

I have a 2015 SXT, 6 speed Hemi but 3.55 gears instead of 3.92.
Honestly I love this truck, I seem to get better mileage than most people and at 164,000miles it's holding up well. The only thing I didn't like was the base gauge cluster, so I grabbed an upgraded LCD cluster out of a totalled Power Wagon for $200CDN and installed it in my truck.
Other than that the only things I would change is having the 3.92 instead of 3.55 gears, and having the LSD instead of my open differential. Wouldn't mind the 8 speed either but the 6 has treated me well.

would there be any warranty on this vehicle ? Any fuel in there would have to be drained, and I can't help but wonder about the entire fuel system. I would let a mechanic Go over it as they should know what to look for.

If it's sold as "new", I believe the warranty starts on the date of sale, but if they call it a demo or used, then it will be from date put into service so good question.

Yeah. I think the dealership had to eventually buy these vehicles from Chrysler and are sold as used. But that would be my main concern. They would do a vehicle inspection... maybe tires are screwed too.

If you get it for 20k with practically no miles on it and warranty, I would call that a good deal, just have em swap the gas and the oil out on the spot as part of the deal if it really has been sitting all that time.

My brother in law is looking at Grand Cherokees. Apparently our local DJR dealer has four brand new 2018 Limited in stock.

The hard part is trying to figure out a good price. You can't really kbb a "new" 2018 at this point. You can check a 2019 and maybe subtract a few k. But the fact is the second you drive it off the lot it is now a used, basically 3 model year old vehicle.. So what is the right price to offer?

Same (or even worse) for a 2017 sxt.

Warranty would be my only concern, if it is sold as new and you get the 3/36 warranty, I would go for it.

If it starts and runs, I wouldn't worry about the gas and definitely not the oil. Oil doesn't go bad from sitting and if the fuel is bad it won't run - besides they usually come pretty empty from the factory.

Key things are a. is it "new"? b. does warranty start from day of sale to you?

I figure they might offer me a short warranty period just to get the deal done. I'm knocking off $2,000 for each year it sat there (off their already reduced price). I think that's fair but they might just laugh at me :)

Try looking up the pricing for a used 2017 with like 500 miles on it. I think that's closer to realistic than deducting 2k per year. Remember what the depreciation will be one you drive off with it. It becomes a 3+ year old truck. Yes maybe with full warranty, but still 3+ years old.

Oddly enough our dealer would not budge very much on price for the 2018. It's like they don't care if they sell them or not at this point.

My daughter bought a 2018 Durango citadel v6 fully loaded all the bells and whistles at a local dodge dealer on Long Island 10 miles on the clock the full warranty starts on the day the vehicle goes in service at first I was against the purchace but the savings was amazing a 48000 truck for 34000 dollars a nice chunk of change

If it's a new '17, not registered, that truck has been paid off for years by the dealership. They won't carry a car over year to year on their books. If they sell it, it is basically free money to them, that is why they don't care if it sells or not.

I'd be offering $5,000 under something comparable (with alot more miles). I enjoy making them cry..

Doesn't hurt to ask! Just wouldn't be surprised when they act like their 2017 is worth more than a 2020 [emoji16]

Remember....It's worth only what someone is willing to offer. Why was it sitting so long is the question I'd ask. Similar to what Booms said....If they are desperate to off-load it then they'll accept any reasonable offer but if they've written off the investment and aren't desperate to sell they'll just say no and wait for their price.
