Hey everyone, new to the forum. I bought OEM bed lights for my 2019 Ram 2500 Laramie. Followed the instructions running the wires and connecting to the BCM. Instructions say plug DG/WT wire into C6 pin#26 (which has no wire but also has no male prong on the BCM when I pull the connector), and C1 pin#5 which has an existing tan wire with orange tracer. After days of research I can’t find anything saying different, so I went ahead and and plugged the DG/WT in C6 pin#26 and spliced the second wire to C1 pin#5. Well as long as the truck is on the lights are on and when the truck is off they turn off. Neither of the switches, the bed switch and cargo lamp button affect the bed lights. They just stay on.

Saying all that, I know the pins used are wrong. Does anyone have info on the correct pins to use?

Got the wiring diagram from the dealer today and looks like the 2018 C6 pin 26 (Cargo lamp switch signal on circuit L26) is the equivalent to my 2019’s C7 pin 16. And then the 2018 C1 pin 5 (Cargo lamp driver on circuit L19) is the equivalent to my 2019’s C3 pin 17. Can anyone look at the snapshots of the wiring attached and confirm that I’m not just looking at this completely wrong?

ccome15, thank you so much for these instructions! You are ahead of FCA on this. The dealership I had the flash done at & the FCA helpline have no idea about the original instructions being incorrect. They blamed the improper function on my wiring...that they provided. I have a 19 3500 with the Aisin. I currently have the same issue with operation after following the old instructions that came with the lights. I will be redoing them tomorrow.

Hey looks like I’m in the same boat as y’all trying to figure this out.

So it sounds like the latest set of drawings (K6862869AB) are what to go by? Tan/white to C3 Pin 17 under the PDC, green/white to C7 Pin 16 under dash.

I think the newest kit comes with 2 tan/white wires, one to reach under the dash on older models/1500 classic, one to reach under the PDC. Only one gets used in an installation. The kit I received is older and doesn’t have two tan/white wires.

The issue I’ve run into is there is already a Tan/white wire in C3 Pin 17. Do I need to splice the new tan/white to it?

My truck is a 2019 2500 Power Wagon. Has the CHMSL camera and surround view if that matters.

thanks.

Upon further review of the instructions, it says to splice the wire if an existing wire is already occupying that pin on the connector.

The fact it’s a tan/white wire already occupying the pin location makes me confident it’s the correct wire to splice. The kit comes with a fancy crimp to use for a splice, but I don’t have the fancy tool to crimp it with. I think I will use a vampire tap and confirm it works once the dealer activates the kit, and then maybe I’ll resplice with solder.

I didn’t use the fancy crimp. I peeled back some of the wire’s insulation and soldered the wires together. The. I had to bring back to the dealership and have it flashed.

Hello all. Great info. Have a 20 PW 2500. Same issue as described at the beginning. Dealer inserted pins per wrong instructions. Lights on when truck running only. No switch control. My harness has green/white and tan/white. The pdf a above shows connecting green/white to C7/16 and to cap the tan/white and tie it off, suggesting you don't use it. However the very next step indicates to connect the tan/white to C3/17 in the engine compartment. So, which is it? Both? Or just another mopar instruction missed edit? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

How did you find room to work up there? I could barely get the wire plugged in, let alone solder it.
