So I am in the market for an upgrade from a 2012 Ram 1500. I max out about $34k.

I want my Rambox stil. It is hard to find them and even harder to find in a Rebel edition.

My question is should I continue looking for a 2017-18 Rebel in my price range or should I opt for something newer with maybe lower miles? Looks like i can get a decent Longhorn/Big Horn for the same price in a 2019 maybe even less miles. Or do I even look at Laramie or limited in a 2017 year? At what point do you opt for more bang for your buck?

Do you need a crew cab or Quad cab? You are pretty darn close to getting a new Tradesman with the 0% at 84months.

I previously owned a 2017 Bighorn and just loved it till I purchased my 2019 Bighorn. Just no comparison in looks, features and amenities and ride. In my humble opinion Ram hit it out of the park with their 5th generation models. With 34K in hand you could buy a fairly well equipped 2020 Bighorn and you'll never look back......

Crew cab has to be. Tradesman are the worst. Have to have the upgraded electronics package. Big Horn 2 in the minimum package I want. I came from a 2012 tradesman and had to upgrade everything which was annoying. Thanks

When I was shopping last year, the Rambox was a key requirement. I wound up with a Laramie Off-Road package to get it, which was great since I wanted the skid plates. Depending on why you want the Rebel (is it the interior or grill?) I only found three non-cosmetic differences between the off-road and Rebel packages. Those are the tires, front bumper skid plate, and shocks. May be an option to expand your search criteria and get you what you want. That said, the off-road still has A/T tires, so the difference on that one was small. Good luck!

I love that grill and the black accents. Like the Warlock except the interior of the Warlock is trash. Off Road doesn't mean much to me. Have no need for the skid plates or off road shocks.

Rebels with ramboxes are out there. My girlfriend is upgrading to a Limited and getting rid of her Rebel. It's a 2017 with the rambox option. Truck is black with the blackout package, and I believe around 25k miles. It looks amazing IMO. She wants all the new options she couldn't get on her Rebel at that time. But I doubt you'll want to come across the country to buy it LOL.

How are the cloth seats in the 2019's? Mine in the 2012 are starting to fall apart. I am a big man so I can understand that my size plays a role in damaging it. Is it better to opt for a leather interior to make it easier for getting in and out?

Man I bought the wife a 2019 used limited, it was 48k, I know over your budget, but either way, those ramboxes she was unsure of and now she says she loves them. Honestly, used is the way to go, there are used bighorns out there for 25-35k depending on mileage, I don't know that I'll ever buy new again. Our truck has 10k on the mileage, used, and stickered at 69k new in December of 19. Older model of course.
