Leer Camper shell

I was looking for awhile trying to pick up a used shell. Challenging. Either they are old as **** resting in weeds, had damage from age or just the wrong size.

So, bought a new paint matched Leer 100XR with carpet interior liner. The shell, shipping, tax, install Etc Etc cost me roughly $2,400 out the door. Maybe a few bucks more.

It has rained pretty heavy the last few days. Bone dry inside.

I like it. Should have done it sooner.

I have the same exact cap. I optioned for the keyless lock and removable front window. Got it about 2.5 years ago, have no complaints. A bed rug goes real well with it

Glad to hear you like it. I want a cap but can't justify dropping that much on it when my truck is at 165k. In the next couple years when I go buy my next truck I'm going to see if they'll roll a cap into the financing and do it that way.

I think it will be negligent. I say that because the 35x12.5r20 Toyo MT’s really caused my gas mileage to plummet. Going to be running an AT once these get burned up. If I notice anything obvious then I will post an update on it.

It took me about a year to find a paint matched one for mine. I had a black one on for 6 months or so. Finally found one at a dealer in Tavares, FL. I got it for $1,000 with Thule roof racks and carpet lined. Well worth the wait.

I like how you mounted those lights on your shell. Originally, my plan was a low profile rack and some lights. Buuuuut, I had set a certain budget and the factory mounting points from LEER pushed it over. So, it is baby smooth on top. No track or mounting points. Kind of a bummer. But, I figured I had enough lighting on the front bummer. For now

My caps always dropped my mpg by about 1.5 to 2 mpg.

Dang I want one, been searching for a used one as well for almost a year....but got dang like you said they are beat to hell or just as much as a new one! Looks good! Instead of a bed rug, I’m going with a decked drawer system

I used truck bed rail tubes and then a steel pipe to join them, was cheap and the stainless steel tubes go with my steps.

Better pix maybe.

I originally bought my Leer topper to help with wind resistance when towing our 25' travel trailer. While it may or may not have helped is open to debate because of wind, load and what not, I think it helped a little. We have since sold our trailer and don't tow anymore but I can't count the number of times that shell has come in handy and allowed us to put tall, bulky stuff back there and not worry about it. It was pricey but well worth it to us.

Oh man I’m excited! Found a used one in great shape for $500, jumped on it! Not worried about the color because I will raptor line it soon...day after purchase during the COVID pandemic we beat feet to south Texas to our friends place (400 acres) and social distanced while having a few drinks across the fence from one another! [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] loving it!

Y’all should look into getting a RANCH SIERRA cap !!! Just as good as a LEER (looks like the L 100) but about 50% cheaper priced ! It came with the interior headliner, fold down front sliding window, sliding side window and screens. I bought mine for $1404 tax included from ISHLER’S TRUCK CAPS in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania and was completely satisfied with the customer service and the color match as they ordered it for me on my 2019 Bighorn ! Great place for a good price !
