Does anyone know the correct tire pressure for a 2011 Ram short bed regular cab truck? It came with 17/8 chrome clad wheels with 265/70/17 tires. Truck says 40 psi on door. Put 17 inch alloy wheels from a 2019 Ram classic on it. At 40 psi if I spin tires to get foot print about a half inch on each side isn't hitting the ground. Only difference is 8 inch rim to 7 inch wide rim. Also are tire pressure monitors compatible from 2019 to 2011. Drove about 6 miles and tire pressure light still on. Thank for any help and stay safe out there with all that is going on.

Did you learn the sensors to the TIPM after installing the new wheels? If you had a shop do the swap that should have known to do the TPMS learn procedure afterwards and then it could take like 50 miles for all of them to finally sync. It seems like a lot but I did have 1 sensor that took almost that long to finally sync.

Just put tire on myself. How do you do the tpms learn procedure?

The truck will learn the new sensors automatically. If after 50 miles they haven't then any dealer or most shops should be able to do it. You can also do it with alfaobd

I think there is a different Hertz output between your original sensors and a 19's sensors.I'm not sure if a relearn will work, you might have to re-use your original sensors, but don't quote me on that, just something I remember reading a few years back.

That's a possibility. I think the classics use the same as 2014 or 15+

yours sounds about right where you are at or maybe try 39 but having the very edge not touching is about right from what I have always read. offroad they will be touching . Edges will be touching when cornering instead of rolling under.

Do a chalk test. The tires should contact the pavement all the way across. Otherwise they will wear out prematurely in the center from over inflation.
