Hand calculated running the flat land from Dallas to Tampa at 70-75 I saw 16.8. Computer was almost 1.5 off. I am very pleased. 6.4, 2500, 4x4, 8 foot bed, 3.73 gears.

Beats the H out of the olden days of 10mpg on a good day running 65 with a 350 Chev half ton 2 wheel drive and probably low 3's gears. After a few mods and a strong Oklahoma tail wind I could get maybe 12mpg. Wow That is when I switched it over to no road tax propane.

My ‘19 2500 is 6.4 w/4.10s and 4WD. Was getting 16 hwy and 12.5-13 local. Since COVID I drive 3miles or less. Mileage is down to 11☹️. Never gets warmed up good.

Yea, that is what I said before. The higher the mpg the computer reads the more it is off.

I averaged about 14 MPG, but was at 85 mph most of the time from AL to KS and back, this past weekend.

That's pretty good MPGs and I agree the Evic may have been a bit optimistic.... still good though for the size of these trucks.

I'm interested in the sewer cameras.... I use them for doing home inspections. What do you use them for?
Cross-bore prevention and legacy inspection

On my 2011 2500 with the tires I'm running, size 285/70R18, my speedo runs a good 5 MPH slower than actual speed. On long trips my computer mileage has gotten as high as 17-18 MPG but my hand calculations are usually 2 MPG less. Before having to work at home due to the COVID-19 BS, I drove about 40 miles one way to work (Dayton, NV to south Reno, NV thru Carson City). The city miles were about 15 with about 25 miles as freeway. My avg fuel mileage on winter fuel would be between 13.5 to 14 hand calculated. Now with all city driving (Dayton to Carson City and back) I'm down to 12 to 13 MPG hand calculated.

These new trucks are pretty amazing when you think about what preceded them. 30 years ago 250 HP on a gas engine was considered decent and that was on a big block that got 9 MPG empty. 20 years ago wasn’t much better but at least you got around 300 HP and maybe 11-12 MPG. Now we get 410 HP and 15 MPG empty is reasonable if you do your part.

My '17 CCLB 4X4 6.4 4.10's 6-spd has 30k on it and it gets between 10-11 mpg all around. I quit lookin' at anything to the right of the decimal point for obvious reasons. Has a K&N CAI, MF cat back single into dual resonators & 5" tips and a Pedal Commander to **** off my wife. Sport +3 will do that.
Been driving what makes me smile since the mid 70's and ain't about to stop now. Damn the torpedos and full speed ahead boys! Any luck, I'll get it down to 9 mpg soon. That'll be BIG fun! :)

I'm running my second set of the exact same tires.... love them! 4 season, snow flake rated for heading over the mountain passes w/o having to swap tires.

I bought a left over 2018 6.7 a year ago on the cheap, it had been sitting on the lot because it was 2wd.
In hindsight i am glad i did , it exceeds all my gas mileage expectation based on Dealer telling me the best i can expect is 16 to 18 mpg.

My computer shows over 24 mpg average over last 8,000 miles

I attribute that to the following unique parameters:

1. 2wd at least 2 inches lower than 4wd thus punching a smaller hole in air at 75 mph
2. winter cover on most of time keeping coolant at 210 degrees and oil at 200 degrees, blocking all openings in grille improves aerodynamics as it does in NASCAR
3. Shortest trip is 600 miles, eliminating poor gas mileage while waiting for 1100 lb lump of cast iron to warm up.
4. 2wd drive less rolling resistance than 4wd. IMG_0648 (1).JPG 20200414_075442.jpg

just filled mine just now. 255.5 miles and 21.847 gallons = 11.69 MPG. EVIC read 12.3 so .6 off again. About 60% in town and the rest rural and back roads. no highway on this tank

That’s pretty similar to 90% of my driving and I get 12.5 to 13.0. Trips to town and back, cruising the mountains, etc. Almost no flat highway driving unless I hit I-84. I suspect my better fuel economy is all the 8 speed. With the closer gear ratios it’s pretty rare for me to see above 3000 RPM unless I’m on it.

Yeah, likely the 8 speed is the difference. I have 4.10's so that helps the 6 speed. I rarely go over the speed limit and am pretty easy on the pedal

Just local driving no highway and I'm getting 13.22. That's hand calculated. I'm happy with that. I only have 974 miles on the odometer.

I have a 2015 Ram 2500 Laramie 4X4 6.4 HEMI 4:10 gears, the best mileage I have ever gotten is 11.8 mpg that is going down hill with tail wind at 78 mph. I live in where the elevation changes 2500 ft, going up hill at 78 mph I am really lucky to get 8 mpg.
I was told when I purchased the truck I should average 17 I have never come close to that. I have taken my truck to two separate Dodge dealers and an independent mechanic and all have said everything is in specs and non has an idea why my mileage is so low ?

Any ideas except dynamite ? I have considered a true dual exhaust but I have been told that if I remove that 1 inch pipe that connects the two cats together and goes to the single exhaust that there won't be enough back pressure. personally I am not sure how it runs with a pipe that is reduced from 2 1/2 inch pipe and is reduced down to 1 inch ?

I have the same truck but a 2018. I get about 16.5-17 on the highway but about 11.8 average since i bought it. you probably aren't far off what you were told. That 17 you were told was probably highway. if i stay at about 60-65 i can hit that

Your mileage does not sound unreasonable given your driving conditions. I know speed limits in Utah are a lot higher than here in Oregon.

Elevation changes use a lot of gasoline. We have something like 1600 feet of gain on the way to town and 1800 feet on the way back. I’m at 12.4 average according to Fuelly. I’ve had a couple tanks at 14 MPG when I’ve driven the interstate but that’s pretty flat.
