Had an incident this morning and got very, very lucky. Limped back to my truck, grabbed a tow strap, put her in 4wd Low and she pulled the tractor back up on the hill with very little effort. I'm not sure I even hit 1500rpm and it was up. I've got 37k miles on her now and have yet to find anything I don't love about her.

Wish I'd have had the presence of mind to video it but I think I was still in a bit of shock from the impact. Flipped ass over tea kettle and landed/slid on the corner of the bucket. No cuts, no broken bones, just some bruising. Would have been a very different story had it rolled.

Glad your ok. Stuff happens quick.

Glad your truck was able to drag the tractor up so quickly.

Any damage on the tractor? Looks nice!

Despite being mostly a Ford man most of my life....I do love my ram too.

Also glad to hear you're fine. I do a lot with equipment as well. It amazes me that every year I have a moment where I say "I have too much experience to have done that/had that happen"

Thank you Gents. The tractor is just over a month old and thankfully it didn't suffer any damage. I had to climb back on it to shut it off after the fall and when I got it back on top of the hill it fired right up. I'm the only thing that took a beating lol.

Indeed I did and I have to admit that I'm glad I did. Tractor didn't have a scratch on it so the crap helped cusion the blow. Didn't help me much though since I landed on the bucket.

How long did the engine run when the tractor was vertical like that? Hopefully it didn't hurt the rods or mains. I guess you'll find out over time. If its quiet and wasn't making any noises when you shut it down your probably ok.

So looking back on this, how did it happen? Were you too close to that drop off with a full bucket?

The tractor was idling like nothing ever happened when I was able to climb back on it and shut it down. Started back up as usual without any strange noises or anything so hopefully it's good to go.

If you look you'll notice a fence post on the ground parallel to the top of the drop off (behind the rear tires). 60 seconds before the photo was taken that pole was buried halfway in the ground. I put it there so my wife and daughter have an easier time backing up the ATV/Trailer to dump manure. This was probably the 30th trip I've made with a load of manure to dump it over the edge but this one went differently.

My front tires made contact with the post but instead of stopping against it, the pole rolled out of the ground and rotated my front wheel up and over with it. There wasn't enough ground on the far side of the pole to support the front tires so over she (and I) went. I flipped forward and the knob on the steering wheel tried to rip my left pectoral muscle off. Ass over tea kettle then I landed/slid down the corner of the front bucket. No cuts, no broken bones but my chest hurts a bit, my back hurts a lot and I've got a nice raised red streak running from my right shoulder blade down toward my tail bone ending in a very pretty bruise on my butt cheek (just short of the crack!).

Better that pole moved with you going forward. Had your wife or daughter had an issue backing up it to it could of been worse. Glad you only bruised.

They back an ATV trailer up to it which doesn't weigh anywhere near what the tractor does so I don't think we'll have the same issue with it. Even if it did, the ATV trailer is so light I don't think it could pull the ATV over with it, especially with my wife or daughter on it. We're all being cautious now.

Wow, thank God you are okay! Is that a 2616? If so, I have the same tractor, sans backhoe and I also have a 2017 2500. I also had a little incident with the tractor one day. We have a 1/4 mile long white gravel driveway, most of up goes up a hill that also slopes from right to left. Parts of the driveway have a graven bank on one side that is over 6ft tall. A while back I was grading and got a bit too close to the edge and started to fall sideways down the embankment. I quickly dropped the bucket and just barely kept the tractor from flipping sideways. In fact, I was just about to bail to the other side.

Anyway, I used my truck to pull the tractor to safety...Threw her in 4 Low and pulled out my tractor with ease. Took me about 3 hours to fix the road, but I was very thankful that I didn't get hurt!

I am much more careful now!!!
