Has anyone experimented with putting the factory duels from a 5th gen on a 4th gen truck? I am able to get them for free but don’t know if it’s even possible to make it fit. Thanks in advance for the help

Can you weld? Do you have a buddy who can weld? Anything is possible if so

the inlet outlet size is the same so it should just slide on I guess I’m more wondering if the hangers are in the same spots

If it’s just a different length I can always trim it but if the hangers are in completely different spots it won’t work

If you are getting for free wouldn't it be worth it to buy new hangers if need be? Grind the old ones off. If it were me my only concern would be if the pipes fit so different underneath that I'd have to add a bunch of new pipe...and that I don't know how to weld, dammit[emoji2]

For free, take it and buy some different aftermarket hangers. You may not even have to weld, but it certainly makes things like that easier to do. You could probably talk a welder from a shop to do it in his garage for a bit of money and a case of beer. My friends who weld were always up for modifications to make things louder or cooler.

Good luck

Hope no one minds, but I reminded of a answer my father told me when I was a younger. He was talking about making a small go kart out of an old four wheeler frame. I remember looking at him and asking “you can make that?” He said “son, I’m a welder, I can make anything”. Anything is possible with a welder lol.

Yep. My ex gf's father was a welding instructor for years at a college. His start was welding in England for Rolls Royce doing welding on their airplane engines in the 60s. Yet he could make you the most beautiful wrought iron railings, gate doors, lawn decorations. I have a lot of respect for the capabilities of a welder.
