Good news... ALL PARTS are interchangeable as there weren’t major changes from ‘87 to ‘88 model years.

Think of the Ramcharger as a regular cab short box Ram with a permanent topper. If you find a fully loaded Ramcharger you can load up your Ram or vice versa.

Happy parts swapping...

OH SANDY YOUR the man . that's what I'd decided the 87 is not much more than a fancy 1/2 ton P/U .
.............. ONE MORE QUESTION do you think My D250 WILL have bolt holes in it's floor board To swap over to the Bucket seat & The center console ...
Since I'm nearly alway by my self I'd like to have the bucket seats.
.... Man I sure wish that Ram Charger had a 360 cid in it .
.........................
....... Many years ago I drug home a 1975 1/2 for $25.00.. I swapped a 440cid into it & put a Split seat White from a cab & half .. & Put a flat bed on it .& i PUT A 3/4 TON ABOUT A 4:11 GEAR UNDER IT & sOME EXTRA Wide wheels & tires & I had an Automotive store & I mixed paint so we alway had trash paint . & Painted that thing Cowboy Blue & Silver . IT TURNED OUT SWEET.
Everyone in town loved it.

its unlikely the truck will have bucket seat holes in the floor already. you'll have to drill them. make sure you use some big washers to help distribute the load of the seat bracket for 'pull out' resistance.

unless your short and skinny bucket seats from a ramcharger don't fit a regular cab very well. on top of that the floor of the truck cab does not have the same support as the ramcharger. slide under the RC and you will see a extra support to spread out the weight. it is part of the reason i put a bench seat in my 1 RC. i was tired of patching up the rusted support and the wobbly seat.

for a heavy chunk of steel, those front bumpers do seem to bend easy.

OH & TODAY I DID MAKE IT BACK TO THE RAM CHARGER FOR A LOOK SEE...
I pulled the GLOVE BOX & IT's the same color as my D250.
... so I'll get a set of nice Sun Visors also . .& A new correct color Ash Tray. My trucks is broken.
.... & Last night when TRoy & I were letting him Drive the D250 WAS REALLY HAVING ISSUES with it's transmission .. & SO He'll get a lesson in swapping a 707 Trans pretty fast I'm sure ..
... Because in about 40 days we'll have a big field of Sudan Round Bales of hay to haul in.
This old D250 Has a flat bed & a Hay Spear on it's back SO TRoy can can haul about 40 to 75 big round bales of hay to the house . & Back up & Stack them ..
If this next 727 Holds up he should get his fill of learning to drive .

the 727s are pretty straight forward and easy to rebuild. there's a nice learning lesson for the kid!

We checked the fluid in the new Trans 727 & man it was clean. looked like new fluid .
......
... We swapped onto my D250 SEVERAL parts mostly just letting the grand son use tools.
We moved the Washer BOTTLE OR jUG & IT WORKS .
We moved those washer nozzles over to my D250. i WAS GLAD TO FIND THOSE GOOD ON this R/C . As when I was trying to buy them what I found were about 25.00 ..
I'm going to swap the Hood over because it's rust free. & as I plan to paint it durning the summer . & It's old hood while good .. It had a line of light rust . That could cause problems later .
... I ordered a new Lock & key cyl for the Tilt wheel .

SO The young, boy Tech, that helps me on the farm with repairs I can't do.. He came buy & He'd already pulled the STEERING COLUMN out of the Ram Charger But like normal he'd left a special tool that he has but not with him today .. He'd left it at home . SO He'll be back tomorrow & Hopefully he'll finish the tilt wheel tomorrow .
SO WE WORKED ON MORE STUFF.

OK jIMMY GOT BACK TONIGHT TO RPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN tonight .
& I had something else going on.
SO I believe he got it done But it looked like he left in a whirl wind .
Neither door was closed completely & No horn pad on the tilt wheel. Maybe he'd forgotten where the Horn pad is but I saw it & wondered why it was left there .
..........

& So what did I have going WELL ... I Drove about 50 mile north to pick up a door for either this 1988 pick-up or my Grand Sons 1989 Diesel pick-up.
I found this door on a market place trade sight . $80.00 & He said it was a good door . SO He & I could not get together & I just knew someone else was going to find my door . He's a production line welder & He can't get on the phone .. & Then his phone & mine did not want to talk to each other .. SO I got to talk to him this evening & He was like me he should have been off bu 5:30 today . I was about 6pm.
I got to his place & His wife controlled the Dogs while me & his boys gave the door a good look over & Loaded it in my Pick-up .
I did not find any Rust .. No cracks in the hinges A GOOD glass & The Manual window regulator was good & tight . Really no deep scratches in the paint & no dents .
But it did have that RIP At the vent Glass & back about 2 inches where the glass rolls up.
... Maybe I can wire weld that & repair as I paint it .
...But it sure looks like a good door . If it doesn't shut proper on my truck I'll give it to the Grand Son & move onto another part of my projects .

SO LAST NIGHT WE FINISHED up the Tilt Steering swap .
FYI .. The steering column didn't not swap completely correctly between the D250 1988.& THE 1987 Ram Charger .
But it did work out . SO We had to also swap the lower shafts also.
But I now have tilt & a new lock & key cyl. My blinker work.. wipers ..Dimmers .
I guess I'm crazy but it seems to crank & turn better . Old one had a gravelly sound in it .
