After months and months of flopping back and forth between a PW, Rebel, Sport, BH, new, used, Ford, Chevy etc. I settled on a 2020 Rebel black package with leather, nav, 12" screen etc. Basically everything but a Sunroof which I didn't want anyway.
The manly man in me wanted a PW
The cheap skate in me wanted used or base btruck
In the end I got something that worked for the family and something I'll be happy driving for the next 10+ years.
I was originally turned off of the Rebels because I didn't want air ride or any red accents. I also wrestled with the box size. This is my first crewcab shortbox. I've always had quads with 6'4" but with my 2 boys its time to go bigger since my 9 year olds knees are in my seat back when he sits behind me and my 12 year old needs the front seat moved up.
After putting way to much thought into it I settled on 1 of 2 black appearance Rebels. 1 was Vinyl interior, 8.4 screen, no nav etc. All and all it was a gorgeous truck. Next test drive was the one I bought. Turns out the dealership owner had drove it 2200 kms and the manager didn't know. I pointed out that the truck wasn't "new". They adjusted the cost and turned out to be about $1000 more than the Rebel with vinyl. This truck has way more features than I need or want but dollar for dollar there is more value in this one I suppose.
I've had a company truck since 2006 and haven't had to put any thought into any related costs. Not going to lie there was some sticker shock when it was coming out of my pocket! lol
