I ordered these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081J5P655/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And they were just about right. A left hook and a right hook. But the brackets were mirror images of each other and the mounting spots on the frame are identical (need the dog-ear on the left side).
I could've lopped off the dog-ear and welded it to the other side, jiggered it to fit. But the more I thought about it the more I considered the fact that they were Chinese knockoffs, could be made of pot metal, break during use.
So they're going back.

The MOPAR "kits" that used to be stocked are no longer put together. You have to buy the parts individually --- and they're quite proud of them.

Any other ideas for recovery points?

Off-road bumper is nice for recovery. Some have rings on them to install a clevis.

I don’t understand why those wouldn’t work (aside from them being cheap knockoffs made from questionable materials) being that even the Mopar hooks are reversible meaning that you can use either hook on either side of the frame where they bolt up. I found that out when I had to switch mine around due to the body shop putting them on backwards because I didn’t think the openings of the hooks where supposed to be facing each other.

I guess I can’t blame the body shop because when I took my truck in there to get the front end fixed after smackin’ a deer, my truck didn’t have tow hooks and since Mopar doesn’t necessarily make those hooks as a designated left and a right, it’s really no mystery why they accidentally put them on backwards.

The brackets are supposed to be mirror images of each other. While the hooks themselves can be mounted on either side, the brackets do have a left and right version.

There is no left and right mounting bracket. Both brackets are the same. I even checked my stock tow hooks.

I think both of ya are correct in your own way because according to the picture- these look exactly like my Mopar hooks that my body shop got for me and put on my truck when they were putting my new bumper on. Whether you put the actual right hand hook on the left or the right side, the longer tab with the little peg on it above the two mounting holes will always be on the left side of the truck if you’re in front of the truck looking at it.

The hooks can only go on one way due to that little vertical tab but each hook can go on either side. 4807f640fc2307f57a89adac875c4d1c.jpg

The brackets that came with my OEM set were mirror imaged. Not sure what else to tell you.

Maybe it's different on different trim levels?

On mine they have to be the same bracket on both, just hooks are mirror-image.

I tried a number of online parts shops and nobody had them in stock except for the full-retail places. And I think that $190 each is excessive for what they are...

I've tried looking for Rebel hooks too --- they're not really hooks but loops. No luck there.

I had aftermarket bumpers on my Jeeps; they're great but heavy.
I'm not going to be wheeling this thing, just dirt roads and a bit on my buddy's private land.

I was hoping that somebody would see this thread that has take-off hooks from an aftermarket bumper install or Blue Ox "toad" install and would offer them for sale.

Try throwing a post in the Wanted forum here if you haven't already.

I ran into a similar problem with buying skidplates and tow hooks for my Jeep Patriot.. their original list prices were less than half of what they're selling for now & I live in a place without many wrecking yards so finding them there isn't a huge likelihood.

I think it was about $150 total for both sides OEM tow hook kits for my Ram 5 years ago... $190 each does seem unnecessary.

have those same hooks, i ended up cutting off the locator tab and using them. Sent them a nasty gram and they said it was a quality issue and they would send me a new set.... new set had the same brackets. Anyways they seem just fine. I dragged my wifes durango down the driveway and they held just fine. From what I gather 18s and maybe late 17s had the locator pin location change, hence the bracket issues. Earlier trucks have mirror image brackets, mine has the 'same side' bracket location.

Ordered mine from Elitewill.com for $89. Came with an extra bracket that was the mirror image of the other two. Fit perfectly. Purchased the bezels from Amazon for $29. 30 minute task to do the whole thing on a 2020 1500 Classic.
