8.4 swaps can be done, but I don't know about the steering wheel controls.

Contact Mike @M2mods in the vendor section of the forum. It's a common upgrade done by many of us. He can make you a conversion harness. You have several different options on how you go. You can also add ATC ( Automatic Temperature Control) and steering wheel audio controls. There are several threads in the 4th gen D.I.Y section with tons of information.
