I have searched the threads and cannot find anything on this. I just noticed my phone dial capability, pushing the talk button on my steering wheel and saying "call so and so", is not working. I noticed it while I had my Pixel plugged into port that allows my Android Auto to display Google Maps. Does having phone plugged in negate auto dialing by voice command? I have a 2019 UAS in my 2018 Tradesman and Android Auto is up to date. Thanks

On my 2017 Sport, I use the Bluetooth connection and have no issues with voice dialing. I am never plugged my phone in the any port.

I deleted my phone from radio, cleared it from my phone, re-paired the two and I cannot voice dial anymore. I tried and it either said phone book updating or I can't understand you. Did not have cable connected, using Bluetooth. I cannot see what software I have, it only displays the license. Any help is appreciated.

Is your phone able to connect via Bluetooth anymore? Have any updates occurred to your phone?

I found 2 ways to voice dial when I had an Android phone connected via USB. Enable the Google Assistant and say "Hey Google" or a long push of the voice button brings up the Google Assistant to voice dial. When the phone was connected via Bluetooth (no cable) the voice button worked normally with a short push.

Thanks. I was hoping to not engage Google Assistant, my phone hears too much of me already. But I figured that the cable might interfere. I disconnected the cable but no luck, then deleted truck connection from phone and vice versa. Did that a few times and it finally worked Sunday night. Started driving Monday and there was no pair of the phone to the truck, so had to re-pair when I finally stopped. Voice calling by using button worked again. Will Pam Ramcares to see what that does, but with COVID running out of control again I am not sure I will want to go to a dealer for a bit.

We certainly understand why this would be concerning. If you are not able to determine a solution based on suggestions from fellow forum members and you decide to address this with your Ram dealer, please be sure to follow up with us via private message. We would be more than happy to escalate your situation to a specialist who can work alongside you and your dealer while your truck is in service.
