Electric fan conversion help

just bought an electric fan for my 2014 hemi ram, part #55056851AF, thought i would plug it in make sure it works before tearing the mechanical one out, got it plugged in turned the truck over and the fan kicked on right away, wasnt even warmed up....mass confusion anyone have any ideas why this would have happend???

Was your air conditioning on?

yea i had the air conditioning running full bore

That is why the fan kicked on right away then. The electric one will run on defrost or while the Ac is on to move air across the condenser.

Also,
If you don't tune the truck with something like HP tuners or a Diablosport the electric fan will not kick on until I believe around 220 degrees(if the ac is off). So, some guys that don't want to tune their trucks will run with the Ac on to keep the fan running.

I would suggest tuning the truck so you can have the fan coming on earlier than that though.
