I am working on one for myself but haven't had time to finalize it yet.

Hi all! I have a bit of a dilemma and would like some advice.
In 2017, I bought one of the first “All new compasses” mainly for CarPlay. It worked great most of the time but then it would get really buggy and disconnect or the screen would go super fuzzy with yellow pink green all over it. The only fix would be to wait a day or two to resolve itself. Finally I found how to check the version and it was running an early 17.X build in 2019.
So I went to Uconnect’s website to check for an update. Nothing. Finally I stumbled across this thread about a year ago and found the UAQ update files. I installed 22.5 and then 22.6. Here’s the weird part. My radio was changed from a MY2017.5 Identifier to a MY2018 with the update and everything was working better in addition to me being able to enable the WiFi hotspot for free.
I thought the hotspot was maybe a trial, but even after close to a year, I still have free unlimited ATT hotspot.
Well now we’re selling the compass as our needs have changed and my daily driver is now a 2013 Ram 1500. I was curious if the Hotspot was being emitted from some other module in the Jeep and not the radio so I tried swapping it into my Ram. The Hotspot still worked! Everything has been working. SXM, NAV, etc. except for my heated seat controls (known issue, I need to get the 4C retrofit kit or the customtronix jailbreak). But when I reached out to customtronix about certain menus and buttons not working and the heated seats, they told me I would need a UAQ out of a RAM as the Compass one isn’t as compatible. Thoughts? I really like the WiFi Hotspot, but maybe I should just put this stereo in my wife’s 2014 Jeep Cherokee and get myself one out of a Ram and not worry about it? Ahh. Decisions decisions.
I found a 7” VP2 with carplay to put back into the compass so I don’t need this UAQ to sell the vehicle.
Thoughts anyone? Is this radio just going to give me a headache any time I go to do anything with it in the RAM? Or should I even care?
Have you tried Android Auto or Car play yet? It may be prudent to ask for a partial refund of you like the aforementioned options...Well good lesson for excitement vs caution, I would think after all these years Auto Recyclers would list parts correctly, While everything on my radio is working perfectly (seats, HVAC, compass indicator, etc.) apparently I purchased a UAS radio and Not a UAQ. I checked my part number and indeed it's a 65 not a 61. So I will more than likely put back my RA4 as I like NAV on My radio, rather then pursue a refund from the Auto Recycler. I will Offer a Trade for a confirmed working UAQ for my UAS, I will leave the Firmware @18.14 I have the unlock code, and can post screens on request of any feature, meanwhile I guess I'll work on my Hub conversion along with my center console conversion.
I have in the Challenger I rented @ one of my IT Conferences, sense I had all the locations on my XL, didn't enjoy the experience, always reaching for my phone and I do like it for my spotify and other media like apps but Turn by turn I prefer on my radio, but hey that's just me some like it some don't I figure use what's most comfortable.Have you tried Android Auto or Car play yet? Fair enough, there are a lot more hands free options you may not have known about though...I

I would be interested in buying your UAS if you don't trade itWell good lesson for excitement vs caution, I would think after all these years Auto Recyclers would list parts correctly, While everything on my radio is working perfectly (seats, HVAC, compass indicator, etc.) apparently I purchased a UAS radio and Not a UAQ. This ...@BigMAX your original hub probably has an SD card slot in it? It appears the UAS/UAQ radios don't support the SD card:

This is might be causing your grief, the firmware probably no longer supports that hub
It appears they removed driver support for older hubs in later firmwares. It also appears you may be the first to confirm this!Well my state of bliss was short lived. I decided to upgrade the software on the radio. It was showing 17.XX and I downloaded the one found on on this site. The update well. I am now at 22.XX but ANDROID AUTO IS GONE!!!!!! It seem my USB port is no longer working. I have tried everything with NO GO.
I am so DISAPPOINTED. I do not know what happened. As anyone else experienced this? It is a 2014 RAM Laramie, Just got the radio. installed and Android Auto came in with my original media hub. Everything was fine now the update fried either the hub or Android Auto.
This too...If it ain't broke don't fix it. You will probably need to buy the updated hub and adapter harness to get AA working again.
