Hey me again.Planing on doing alot to truck and before i do i need the experts to tell me and well yall win that.
So i have the led package on my 2014 sport and i want to change the tail lights to an aftermarket led tail light with c light or something.

Is it as simple as plug and play still or are my oem connections different as i have oem leds?

Alo the 3rd break light i want aftermarket one would that one have a different connection too? I saw in a couple reviews that the connections didnt match and light wouldnt work.

So do i need to order special tails and a special 3rd break light to work or harnesses ?

Thanks in advance

I would check and see if the LED lights you are looking at are for LED or incandescent. They should list whether they are or not. If they are replacements compatible with OEM LEDs then they should plug in.

one would think it's that simple but my experience is that not all LED compatible tails are created equal. I have the Spyder tails, and went thru 2 sets and still get the hyper flash, bulb out message. I've tried to fool the truck with AlphaOBD and still have the errors. Do LOTS of research and get reviews on your specific truck model before buying.

Whatever you are looking at has to have the LED lighting version, not the incandescent version

Ok i was afraid it was going to be more complicated then I was hoping for.

So anyone with oem led lights already what tail lights and or 3rd break light did you buy and works with your truck?

I had factory non LED tail lights and put Spyder LED taillights on and a Diode Dynamics third brake light bulb and have zero errors and did'nt even have to use my AlfaOBD.

Personally i wouldn't upgrade the factory LED's to aftermarket LED's. I don't think it's worth it. The OEM LED's are just as bright as the aftermarket ones and look great. In fact i would have retrofit the OEM LED's to my truck if it wasn't so expensive.

As for the third brake light? The factory housing is better quality than any of the aftermarket models. I just changed the bulbs (Diode Dynamics brake light and Diesel LED's cargo lights) and its just as bright as a good quality aftermarket one like Recon but way less money. Just my 2c.

I more so just wanted smoked tails with the c light.

for 3rd break light wanted something more eye candy and smoked. The lights them self are very bright and happy with the output.

What do you mean by "C" light? And they make tint sprays to smoke out tails. I think it was/is called Nightshades? Might be an option. I know it was very popular back in the day.

These are for LED-equipped 2013-2018 and 2019 Classic. Reuse your 7440 reverse bulbs or buy LED replacements. I've had good luck with Auxito.
I'd also just tint your existing 3rd light, once you remove the housing you have to replace the gasket or risk leaking (which most aftermarket ones do)

I used VHT Niteshade to smoke my tails and 3rd Eye. There are some pics in my album. I'll embed one before and after here:

Looks good. I remember the 90's well when GTS smoked headlight and tail lights were all the rage. EVERYONE had them. And for the cars where the covers were't an option Nightshade was the GO-TO. It looks really nice then and still does now.

No, I painted mine right on the truck. There are a couple of YouTube videos out there. Just mask it real good, spray with short even strokes, don't overlap, and NO MORE than three coats. Finish with rattle can clear coat.

Ok my bad i did a search in canada with that part and it loaded up saying the message i posted. I then just messaged the company and they sent me the correct link for us canadians.

I use to have there tail lights on my H2 truck and they were great until one day at the carwash the one side developed a rapid flash on turn and no break light. They were quick to do warranty.
