Pulling together the parts for my build.

Deck: Alpine ILX-F259
Speakers: Audiofrog GB15 & GB 60
Amp: Phoenix Gold SX2 800.4 & 1200.1
DSP: Helix DSP Mini
Sub: ??

It seems every time I build a setup, I add a bit more, go a bit higher end. Lord, I hope this is about the top for me. The stereo in my F150 was clean and crisp, but just didn't get quite as loud as I wanted. So, I've got more amplification and better components. I'm also going to run just a front stage and go full active with the DSP. The F150 had a DSP, but I didn't run it full active as I had a Match DSP with built in amplifier, not enough channels to go active. I'm really looking foward to hearing this all put in.

I really need to stop talking with my dealer... He's been a friend and my supplier for over 15 years now.
Once I get all the equipment in hand, I'm going to try and figure out where to stuff it all in the Reg Cab!

And decide on a subwoofer too... JL W7 perhaps?

That’s a really nice stack of stuff..

Look at a stereo integrity sql12. Small box friendly and the early reviews are great. I’m either getting that or a Dayton HO12 (or both..) in the next couple months, once I get my system put together. I’ve already got a set of Image Dynamics CXS Chameleon comps, some ID coaxials and a 5 channel NVX amp, not sure what HU yet.. about a third of the quality of your build, lol!

This has evolved (or perhaps devolved) as I moved forward. I got a screaming deal on the PhxGold amplifiers. When I started looking into components that could really handle the 150 RMS the budgets went to heck, then I started toying with going full active and ****** I'm buying AudioFrogs.

I'm really excited to get into this, but the weather as of late has said Absolutely Not.

Well, I finally started back up. Got the passenger door deadened (the outer skin anywho).
More to come there...Second Skin.jpg

Next I started working on my HDPE adapters, the factory 6x9s don't line up with the middle of the speaker grill on the door card, because... reasons? Anywho, that's why my speaker is offset.Mounts.jpg

Got the GB60 mounted up and ready to bolt in. Time to get a bunch of wiring done.
New wire through out.

What gauge power cable are you running? I have 4 now, but am upgrading amps and want to run 1/0, but I'm not sure it will fit under the plastic paneling along the sides

I stuffed an audio control d4.800 to drive my kappa perfect 600 components in the door and reference 3032cfx in dash. Homemade 2 boxes for 2 Rockford P3 12's pushed by 1000BDx1 certified 1571 RMS . That was the culmination of uncontrollable escalation lol.
I got very intimate with that truck. Anyone have with a alpine premium system? If you mute the source and put your ear against the door grille can you hear and ever so slight pink noise type of static?

I've been slowly taking the truck apart more and more. I think there is more interior in my apartment than in the truck at this point.

Only real photos I've got to add are the rear cab wall Damplifier install. I was able to snake in a full sheet into the B pillars on the inside. Man that area is a real SOB to get to! As you can see, I've got some broken glass to remove as well.

IMG_20200804_141522.jpg

I've got the mounting brackets made up for the 4 channel amp (under pass seat) and a couple rivnuts installed. Going to lightly bolt it all in place and make sure the seat still fits. Work keeps taking away my mornings when it's tolerable to work outside. it's 104 and no shade in sight, F that.

I've got my wiring routes planned out, just need to make it happen! - come on summer cold snap!
Also ordered up some carpet samples, long grumpy story short, the previous owner did things very differently than I would have, and it needs a new carpet.

That rear wall can be very noisy with vibration. And the cabin vent flaps make their own noise when you pound on the wall.

I'm very interested in what you get for the carpet. I wanted to order new factory carpet, but after several attempts, the orders are cancelled as N/A. I resorted to power washing mine but still would like factory new if possible, or aftermarket that actually fits.

You're not wrong on the back wall.

The previous owner had glued an aftermarket carpet onto the OE carpet, very poorly. Long story short, I peeled that off the OE carpet and... well there is adhesive all over the OE carpet and I can't seem to break it down. Carb cleaner, brake cleaner, Simple Green, nothing. Don't really have much choice but replace it.

WhiteExpress, will the stock alternator be enough to power those 2 PG amps? I am adding another amp and had never considered the alternator output until recently.

I think for the type of listening I do, it'll be just fine. I am going to upgrade the Alt to Battery cable with a 4 Ga just to help in a peak load situation. If I was going for a SPL setup, I would be far more concerned about it.

Well, I started added my Luxury Liner Pro - Thick MLV with attached CCF.
I gotta say, overall I'm quite a fan of installing this product. It cuts and lays very predictably.

CabFloor.jpg

I also got a sheet across 90% of the rear cab wall.
CabWall.jpg

I'm working on my mounting brackets for my DSP under the center console.
I don't know what I did wrong, but man of 4 holes I drilled, 3 were off by 1/16" or so.

I gotta pull the power cables from the fuse location to the amps, and lay down the speaker wire.
Then fit up the new carpet kit which is laying in my bedroom currently.

I'm really getting anxious to get this put back together!

Are you going to mount the amps directly to the backwall, or are you going to make a mounting plate? Im at this stage with mine as well and cant decide which way to go

I have actually made stand off mounts that bolt to the floor. (Drilled and installed Rivnuts). I used 2 pieces of angle aluminum to create the mount. Only the upright sticks through the carpet, then the other piece bolts to that and holds the amp. It allows for a bit of air space under the amp (and for running wires) but still has it mounted solidly.

The 4 channel amp will be under the pass seat, the sub amp under the driver and the DSP is going under the center console because I will have to have ready access to plug in USB for tuning.

If this weekend goes accordingly, I should have better photos showing the equipment mounted without the seats in.

I just epoxied a composite board to the back wall, but I had dynamat extreme on the back wall already so I glued to that. Been there a few years now without moving.

Well, after a hot and sweaty afternoon of cussing, I have a carpet kit largely in place.
I'm going to let it rest and form to the floor with this nice West Texas heat for a day or two.
Carpet 01.jpg

Starting to get excited to get it all back together and hear it!

- Reminds me: I still don't have a subwoofer picked out.
