What part of NY are you in? I have bought multiple trucks and Jeeps from Suresky in Goshen, I've never had a bad experience. If you didn't have any luck with what you're looking at now, you might check them out.

All the late model cummins 2500's have 3.42's so that's what you are going to get (I think 2014-2018?). It tows fine. The only issue you may run into is if you want to run like a 37" tire or something, then I would think about re-gearing.
I tow a TT that might go 9500lbs tops. My 2017 with 3.42 gears tows the trailer like it's not even there.
It stays in 5th gear OD when using tow/haul mode and it doesn't down-shift even on long fairly steep climbs. I just set the CC at 65mph and the rpm's stay right at about 1900.
I have the stock size 275/70/18 tires.

At the price range you are saying the used one is for, you can definitely get a new one for same price. My '18 was MSRP 55k and I walked away with it for 43k. Dealers like to swear they can't go any lower, but if you stick to your guns, they will make a sale. Try to find a '19 still sitting on a lot, I got one 10 months on the lot hence the steep discount

What state/region are you in?
That's what I paid for my Bighorn. Nicely equipped 52 and change.
Seems the OP doesn't want to do any homework or doesn't want to travel any distance to get a good deal.
I posted some examples of new units in my area which isn't all that far from the OP.

Well, I’m utilizing this site because I don’t have an abundance of time. I work full time, I’m divorced, I take care of my girls 50% of the time and I clean and maintain a 2500 sqft house with 3 acres of land and 2 vehicles, plus cook, clean and do laundry besides paying child support. I also work side jobs to make everything happen. So no, I can’t spend many hours a day researching. But I did research as much as I could.

That being said, I certainly appreciate all of the help and I hope that someday I can do the same for someone else. And in a further post I put the details but I did buy the 2018 and it was 2 hours from my home, so I did travel a bit.

So I bought the 2018 SLT 2500. It’s loaded. I sourced the original window sticker and truck new cost $63,000. I got it for less than $45,000.

I did a lot of research, I didn’t want a Tradesman and couldn’t afford a 2019 or newer Big Horn with less than 100k miles. I am very happy with this truck.
There is a shortage of new trucks due to the virus and dealers are getting top dollar for used because of it. I’m friends with a dealer and those are his words. They are even getting top dollar from the auctions.

So, here’s my new to me truck. A loaded 2018 SLT with under 10,000 miles and the most important is the 6.7!!!

Well, I can’t figure out how to post a picture from the photos on my phone!

Congratulations. After years of search off and on I recently purchased a ‘14 Tradesmen. Now if the title would hurry up and come in.

welcome to the diesel club! I joined it early July. I've towed with it once and love it. Regardless of weight behind it, once you tow with a diesel, you'll ask yourself why you ever towed with a gasser
