Where we are in the white mountains is really hilly. Most of the trip from MA was pretty flat.

I have a 180 tstat, V6 efan, no TBV, MH Trans pan(not sure that really helps much with temps), Greene 93 octane tune, Redline C+ in the 65, and I kept it in 4th gear for most of the trip. Once we hit the mts I dropped it to 3rd. Trans hit 152 going up one mtn but that's as hot as it got ....

That trans temp is so incredible considering how it is being used.

I think this is an on purpose, I think if you put a random 1500 watt heater in there you would crack the window. I wonder why they don't have a function where you can leave it on low and just leave it on all night.
Sorry I missed that part. If I leave fan on low (1.400watt) will cost around $70/month if you run it 10H every night. I am to cheap to do that

4th gear, 2000rpm, 53mph...?

Well i guess it cant be 5th or 3rd so it has to be 4th. Man you would love new gears like 4.56’s. At that speed in 4th you be close to 3000rpm.

Yup 4th was about 2200rpm at 60mph. 3rd was a bit better but going up a steep grade it was working pretty hard. Probably should've dropped to second even tho it's not much different in a 65RFE.

4.56s would be amazing. I don't think the zf front axle in the 1500s can take a 4.56 tho....

FCA must have created a 250ppm moly srt oil because they didn't know what they were doing? PUP 0w40 fca's baby has 250ppm + and moly is bad for hemi's? Must be a very persuasive argument, except for the 100 guys rolling around ram forum for a decade with quiet hemi's that were ticking, I don't think you could sell that idea to them. Or amsoil, you can sell that to amsoil either as they are also some of the highest moly levels around. What's the dudes name, pimweasal? scottytard?

5w30 pup regular moly level.

Motorkote is chlorinated Paraffin's, I would NOT use that if you paid me, literally.

I run redline for one reason only, it
We had a Texas Oil Refining salesman at my truck company said that if the moly in oil is added and to very high levels it is bad for the engine and the oil performance but I dont remember how it was bad. He claimed they had the best base oils around too. Texas Refinery Corp

Ok, not trying to put you on the spot here.....but

he said it but is there any link that we can read that supports the statement ? I can see powdered moly being argued .....

but organic moly (or the like) being blended into the base oil? Id like to see or read something from a respected source about how it is bad for the engine. Not the cats.

It's not w/o merit to discuss this about moly, but I'm not even sure a random mechanic would know the difference between Molybdenum-sulfur complexes and m0s2. At this point many of us would rather eat a **** sandwich then change oils back to something that makes our truck tick, so whatever on that deal.

Yeah i dont think moly is bad for our engines. Unless i start seeing the redline 5w30 guys developing a tick again i aint buying that moly is bad

Moly is not the only part of the equation for stopping the tic. The base stock blend and IMO lack there of VII’s (as much as they possibly can) plays a crucial part in this.

If i could not use Redline for some reason id try Motul to be honest. Not super high moly but it is respectable and motul uses excellent base stock blends. <<JMO. And a side not. Their 2stroke oil is amazing. Never seen anything like it. And iv tried a lot.

Oh yes i know moly is not the only thing stopping tick but it most certainly is not hurting the oil i dont think. Motul has just peaked my interest as well. I am trying to learn more about it and so far i am seeing on voas i could find is no moly but that was a 5w40 variety. Sounds like motul uses a great base oil from what i read it is pao/ester am i correct on that?

Also i have discovered that the 3-4 second tick on start up i got has occured on 2 occasions, both times was after i had to move my truck where i started it and moved it so someone else could leave the driveway so it ran for less than 15 seconds. So since then if i have to move the truck i just take it around the block at the very least. Im not concerned at all just reporting back. So far butter smooth 99 percent of the time on 7.5 quarts pp 5w20 and wix xp

Motul 3000v is the redline clone, or clonish. That is high moly, but motul has so many lines hard to keep track, stick with 300v.
