Oh that's neat! Can you share a link to the extension piece? I like your trick and want ti do it myself. Thank you
There are plenty out there. Just search "90 degree obd extension cable". They are available on eBay and Amazon. I normally use the 1ft or 18" flat cable ones.

Thank you for the response.

I can't seem to find it, I will look again tomorrow in the day time and let you know.

Did you take the kick panel below the steering wheel off? 2 screws and it is held in place by tabs, a gentle pull and it comes off (with the obd connector). Makes it ALOT easier to spot.

Since it bypasses the security module for both the CAN C and CAN IHS, almost all modules should be good. The one exception is the radio.
I have a friend trying to add a factory CD player to the 8.4" radio in his 2018 1500.
Will I need the Infotainment bypass to add the icon with AlphODB, or does it have the same limitation?

The change needed to activate the CD option is in the BCM, so the KAOdTECH was able to make the change.

Anyone else having issues getting connected to the OBDLink+ on Android? I see the device and it learns it but that's it. I cannot connect to it and when I try in ALFAodb it won't connect. Same in the OBDLink software. I haven't tried my laptop yet. I have installed Deerguys bypass harness as well.

I'm not sure if I will need one of these or not, hopefully someone can help.

I did the ATC upgrade a few years back on my 2018 1500. At the time I didn't plan on making future upgrades so I did not invest in Alfa OBD. I went threw OBD Genie instead. With that said, I did have to buy a bypass module threw them that was plugged into the SGW behind the radio, then removed after the changes were made.

Can I use that same bypass module with Alfa OBD or do I need this harness?

Hi received the bypass cable (came quick thank you), however I noticed that I only have 1 small connector cable for the canvas and not two, is this correct? I've tried connecting everything up, my android tablet recognizes my OBDlinkMX+, However that is the extent of it. When I try to connect alfaobd, I get a "NO DATA connect failed" message every time.

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Laramie ECO-Diesel.

***Correction, I ordered the cable from a different company in Edmonton, Alberta. Great guy very helpful, unfortunately the cable I received was not the same as what you are selling and required a couple more steps the install than yours, I`m certain I could have installed it but I would be out of my depth and wasn`t willing to screw anything up. So i placed my order on your site today. I look forward in getting the cable so that I can make the changes I need to the truck.

Now taking orders for RAM Security Module Bypass Harnesses. If you have a 2018 RAM or a 2019 RAM Classic and would like to perform diagnostics or make changes to the modules of your truck using tools like AlfaOBD or AutoEngenuity, this bypass is for you. Cost of the bypass is $55.

In order to facility the ordering of the bypass, I have created a website for the orders. Please visit www.securitymodulebypass.com to order a bypass.

FAQ

Does this allow access to all modules?
It has been tested connecting to the BCM and RFH. Since it bypasses the security module for both the CAN C and CAN IHS, almost all modules should be good. The one exception is the radio. The radio does not directly connect to the either CAN of the truck, it is hung off of a DMZ on the security module to protect the truck's CAN in case the radio would be comprised via the 4G cellular functionality.

Does this work with 1500, 2500, 3500, etc?
There are two different versions. One for the 1500s, and one for 2500s and up.

How long does it take to install and is the install permanent?

It take about 5 - 10 minutes to install. Installation instructions will be provided with your purchase. It can be removed in the same amount of time. The factory OBD2 port can be put back in place in less than 2 minutes without any tools.

What programs have been tested with the bypass?

At this point, AutoEngenuity, AlfaOBD, and Autel have been used with the bypass.

Should I leave the bypass installed at all times?
That is up to you. Installing the bypass does make the truck less secure by enabling the OBD2 port for use with diagnostic and configuration utilities not provided or authorized by FCA. That being said, the harness rewires the truck to be just like all previous model year RAMs. I would recommend that you remove the bypass before taking it to a dealer.

Can I use this on multiple trucks?
Yes. We have sold several of these already to dealers and third party shops who work on RAM trucks.

great now I know why I couldn’t get enable the fog lights to stay on when High beams are on lol. I guess I need to order a harness now...

@DeereGuy

I tried following your link that's posted in the first page...will not open!

I have a 2018 Ram 1500, and would like to ***properly*** update my headlights. Currently have a Morimoto Mopar 2015+ HID low beam kit in, and their XB LED foglights. The HID kit has given me grief since day 1 a year ago, and now I have nothing working on the drivers side at all.

Going to be ordering new HID kit that I'd like to run WITHOUT a relay harness & resistors, and I'm told this is the way to go.

Could you please msg me here, or email at [email protected] so I can get my hands on your harness??

Cheers!
