Installed a DZ Tailgate assist kit.
Pleasantly surprised to see the tailgate connection has been reinforced on the newer kit, but not sure how I feel about the look.

Got my new bumper installed. Chassis unlimited Octane Winch Bumper. For the winch i went with Smittybilt X20 Comp one, 12k lbs. Lights are Rigid D series spots 2 in each wing, and a pair of Amazon DOT fog lights for the center piece. Haven't wired up the winch yet but i'm hoping to do so next weekend. I need to figure out where to mount the control box. I may need to relocate that sucker inside the engine bay.

Swapped in a center stack drawer in place of the tiny shelf.
Located the wire for the glove box light. No luck on finding passenger foot well light.
Started to hunt for where the rear defrost module might go, but got distracted. Just as well, as I don't even know what it looks like. Hopefully someone will point me to where it lives or what it looks like, and know any other and parts that are needed.

Thanks for the heads up, but I’m not worried at all about that. It’s such a small, minor set of lights that are not projecting light down the road, that I doubt I’ll get bothered. Where I’m from (outside Philadelphia) the cops are more interested in pulling over (and then violating the rights of the vehicle owners with illegal search’s) Civic’s with cut springs and $30 mufflers and other modified 90’s *** cars, or any modified “sports car”. They tend to leave modified pickup trucks and SUV’s alone.

I’m on day 37 or 38 since I placed my order. It’s laughable at this point. The customer service is downright trash. Once it ships it should only take about 5-7 days to get here. I have 2 businesses where I am constantly getting stuff shipped to me from China and it doesn’t take as long as people think. Every time I speak to someone at Phoenix they tell me the same ******** excuse; “your order is still processing which means the warehouse is doing a compatibility check and a quality test and your radio will ship once they complete that”. I mean that is total ********. It should take 20 minutes to do both of those things and they could do 40-50 orders a day doing both of those checks which means in the 37-38 days since I placed my order, they could have fulfilled thousands of orders by now which they are not getting that many.

I dunno wtf they are doing but it’s obviously a terrible business model and a complete joke. I feel like they are collecting in as much cash as they can before they close their doors and make off with everyone’s money from open orders. No company can be successful in 2020 by taking 38+ days to ship an order when that item is NOT out of stock or on back order. Something fishy is going on here.

Wow that’s cool!!! [emoji1360]

They buy their stuff from alibaba . com and mark it up 200%. it has to ship from china. next time save yourself the hassle of a 3rd party and a lot of money and buy direct from manufacturer

It's pretty hard to understand how a professional painter or a decent business owner would let a finished product leave looking like that. You must have gotten the "new" guy that painted your bumper. Sorry for all your problems, but your build sure looks like is coming together nicely. Good luck with the Truck of the Month contest!!!
Jay

Yea it’s unreal. I am going to bring it back right now, actually I’m going to be loading it into my truck and leaving in about 30 minutes. I am definitely going to take some pictures of all the imperfections and horrible spots and I’ll post them when I get back home.

Thanks, hopefully I win the TOTM contest!

Best device I ever bought for my truck! You're going to love it.
Let us know what you think about it after having it a bit.

I too just bought a Pedal Commander. I’ve wanted one since I first got my 4th gen almost 4 years ago lol it is being delivered today (usps so I’m crossing my fingers it actually comes today).

I’ll let you know what I think of it .

My first attempt at vinyl wrapping a light.
I'm pretty happy with it, change the complete look of it.
Okay, okay I know my truck is dirty as hell..... Lol9c0a6abbba1026975f98621b808f1fd6.jpg

Welp. Started our retaining wall replacement work this past weekend. Knocked out one side of the two.

I highly recommend renting the dump trailers from HD. Last thing you want is to have to pick up a retaining wall block that you're getting rid of more than once.

I couldn't take the dirt anymore so I cleaned her up a bit. I tried some new Chemical Guys tire shine and it looks pretty good in my opinion. I also used AlfaODB to turn on the DRL's in the turn signals.

Lol, right! if I was just going to slap it on and walk away. But between filming and editing it. it's going to take all day. Seems like any project I take on takes minimum of one day.
Anyway, I know it's easy it's in the name! Hahaha

Man, bad paint work is dang near 100% preventable. I managed an auto body shop for a while. Things happen, but you damn well better get it fixed before you hand the keys (or bumper in this case) back to the customer!

That vinyl does look SWEET!

Mad props my man. That was one hell of an undertaking!

I couldn't take the dirt anymore so I cleaned her up a bit. I tried some new Chemical Guys tire shine and it looks pretty good in my opinion. I also used AlfaODB to turn on the DRL's in the turn signals.

That color is AMAZING man. My white is very forgiving, but that blue just makes my heart jump every time. Truck looks great!

RA2, Compass, Homelink, overhead console put in and operational so far. Tomorrow the OEM backup camera system gets installed. The only Tradesman regular cab long bed with roll up windows I know of with a leather wheel, all the stuff I installed so far and what’s to come tomorrow! Soon it gets the 2” level out and a real 4” lift goes in. I look forward to that! Before the weather changes the shell gets a bright white coat of paint!77b3bc5af069338a465222d5248517d5.jpg
