Just wanted to put this info out there because I had a very hard time finding any on the chrome clad (big horn) 20” wheels. I have a set of 35x12.50 Gladiator X-comp MT tires mounted on my stock 20x8 chrome clad wheels. I was a bit concerned since almost no tire manufacturers recommend an 8” wide wheel for a 12.50” tire but however, I decided to give it a shot after reading on some other forums that some off-roaders actually preferred it due to less chance of popping a bead off when aired down. Well, they fit perfect on the wheel and I don’t have any noticeable rub on only a 2.5” leveling kit. By noticeable I mean I cannot hear/feel any rubbing, as aggressive as these tires are, I believe the lugs just barely graze the sway bar at full lock with suspension compressed but other than that smooth sailing! Just wanted to put this out there to help anyone if they were looking for this info like I was!upload_2020-5-4_15-20-24.jpeg

Thanks guys! Im trying to make her mine and make her stand out, I love tasteful uniqueness (if that’s a thing lol) And to be as cheap as these tires are, so far mainly just been highway riding but these tires have impressed me considering I got the set under $1000!!! And they’re the 12 ply! I’ll try to post how they wear and how well they stay balanced since that seemed to be the biggest complaint I found about em throughout the life of em probably on this thread.

You can always have someone shoot this stuff on the chrome clads. I have the same 20x8s and I think those would look **** in candy red. It just may happen one day... LOL

In case anyone was curious on how fitment was, it’s close but still decent room. Almost enough to make me think you could run 37x12.50 without rubbing, maybe some on the inner fender liners but could easily be fixed. I would say there’s somewhere around 3/8”-1/2” from sidewalk to the uca.

so just a 2.5" upfront and stock rear susp correct? Happen to have any broadside shots? This is exactly the question i wanted answered. I'm going to be doing a Bil 5100s @ 2.1" and was having a hard time determining if 35s would really fit or not. Most have said yes on height, but no clear answer on width with the factory clads.

Do you have 20x8 or 20x9?

Do you plan to use a 12.5 wide or something in a 11 wide range?

Same as the OP, 20x8s. Prior i was going to do 285/65s, but I looked up those tires and they have actuals of 34.5 and 12.5 measurements. So sameish height, but wider was my concern and he answered my question if they would fit.

Yes that is correct. I have a 1.5” rear spacer I may add later due to squatting when towing but its not required at all to fit these. I would think they would fit with the Bils at 2.1”. I haven’t measured my tires to tell if they are a true 12.5 or not but they’re at least close to. Here’s all I got as far as a broadside picture and a couple fitment pictures. ZERO trimming or moving plastic pieces was done, I put them on the truck and rolled upload_2020-5-13_8-24-53.jpeg

This was the closest point for rubbing I was concerned with but I still have I’d say close to 1/2” maybe give or take a couple.

awesome man thats perfect! Yea I went to the mfg site and they say true measures are 34.5 and 12.5, so I'd be curious to see how close they are in real life.

Just a quick measurement of em on my lunch break, these tires mounted on these rims measured at about 34.25” tall and about 12.25” wide. Keep in mind this was a very rough/quick measure so they very well could be a true 12.5.

good enough for me sir. appreciate all the feedback you've given.
My pleasure buddy! Glad I could help someone else out lol! I know how long I spent just trying to find if anyone had a 12.5 on the chrome clads so figured I’d put my info out there to try and help!

Just wanted to check in for an update. Any rubbing concerns and/or adjustments you've had to make? Getting ready to pull the trigger on 35x12.5s this weekend so just wanted to make sure you're still happy with that width. I'll be doing a 2.5" leveling kit at the same time.

just remember the tire height will drop with the weight of the truck on it. I have 35s on mine, but I have the speedo calibration set to 33.75

Sorry, been bad about keeping up with this. Only rubbing issue I’ve had which is no concern to me is if I hold the wheel locked out and go over uneven terrain, they’ll barely rub the sway bar. Not enough to be worried about at all, if I turn to the lock and let it come back just a bit, no rubbing. Still no adjustments made and I didn’t have my Speedo calibrated and it is off but it’s only about 2 maybe 3 mph off and only seems to be around 55 and up. As far as the tires specifically, I have about 12,000 miles on em now and seem to be wearing evenly across all 4. I’ve been bad about rotating recently and the 2 front tires are beginning to cup but not bad, will easily wear out when rotated. They ride about the same as they did when I first put em on, only notice in difference in parking lots and such due to cupping from my own negligence. Overall still satisfied for 35x12.5’s under $1000!!
