Added a dead pedal today

So been wanting a dead pedal or left foot rest in my Rebel since I got it last December and finally got around to figuring it out. First off, wasn’t having any luck finding one that was specifically made for our Rams. I know there’s some universals out there but nothing i wanted to live with.

Took the chance on one for a Jeep JK
years 07-17. It’s AMI Styling, part #38k 38C.

It mounts with ground wire studs in the jeep’s and upon removal of the kick panel in my Ram, we do have one in just the right spot. So i drilled few more holes, installed some rivnuts, relocated the ground wire point just a bit lower, and notched out the kick panel for a tight fit.

Let me know what you think.
I don’t like the look of the machined raised circles but the price was right. AMI’s other one is a raised machined bars look but almost double the price.

when I did a serch it came up on amazon. a few others came up too. Have you tried others, or was this the first one you tried? I'm wondering about some of the other models that have a similar mount style.

I was just thinking the other day that I miss my Jeep's dead pedal. Was thinking of doing the rivnut thing too, but was going to use the M.O.R.E. stuff because they have a passenger version too. Not sure what on the passenger side. Maybe I have a project to analyze this weekend haha.

No, only tried and ordered one.
My only complaint right now is that it could do with being larger. The one your showing is bigger and adjustable to. Also it looks like it could rest on the floor mat as well. (good thing). The only problem i see is the mounting bracket may be to long. Ram has a raised metal crease coming down on a diagonal. What i put in fit that space almost perfect, not much room to spare, can’t really adjust it forward or back either.

I was considering this one because it looks easily adjustable and trim-able to fit the space but thought that the pedal would be to small for my liking.

You could but i didn’t think that was a good idea. That metal panel it attaches to is double wall. There’s about 1/2” - 3/4” air gap behind it then the actual structural “A” pillar, guess as long as you don’t drill into that.

I just picked up a Rivnut tool from Princess Auto. Metric one 63$ Cdn tax in.

Nah I got this on in my wifes wrangler... its great, and Im a size 12.

That looks great. I never even thought about how nice it would be to have a foot rest over there, now I feel like I need one.
