I just noticed you did something unique with the cup holder opening... what did you do? Looks like some gauges and lights or buttons? I still have my cup holder but don’t plan on using it.

Yeah, so my truck is a diesel. The knobs and the switch tune certain aspects of the fuel and turbo, and the gauge monitors the overall pressure in the system. It is a good place for auxiliary switches though. Just a simple piece of steel from Lowe’s. I used a piece of cardboard to make the template, and used the existing screw holes in the bezel for mounting points. I also added a mechanical oil pressure gauge to that little cubby just to the left of it.

My 2002 2500HD dash completely imploded on the drivers side...first. So, as previously mentioned I used Gorilla 2-part epoxy and glued tabs to the underside of remaining dash..let that epoxy set then slathered the remaining portion of that tab with epoxy and dropped the broken pieces on top of those tabs. From a distance it looked ok, up close...looked like a jigsaw puzzle. Now the passenger side has completely imploded. LMC got the call, so this will be, as many have found out, the biggest DIY job ever. Heater core will be replaced as well. Truck has 138,430mi. on it, so better this repair than a new truck payment. I bet it comes apart alot easier than it goes back together....LOL. I'll never understand why there wasn't a recall on these dashes...plenty of lawsuits, just no recalls! I will start praying now for paitence....I'll need it.

wow. I just stumbled upon this thread and I'm glad I did. My dash isn't all that bad, but the top piece is completely broken into pieces. It's all covered with a carpet, fine for now, but one day I gotta fix that.
A question to those who managed to replace the whole dash: how much time does it take for a moderately skilled person to get it done? Any major things to pay attention to (things you wish you knew before you heard that crack while pulling something)?
