so Does anyone know how to fix my seat belt . 1988 D250 bench seat .. iT PULLS out of the pod fine . But when you drag it across your body ... & TRY TO Push it into latch .. What is supposed to hold the latch in place to make it snap into place . I need 3 hand to get it latched . & I guess all my other rides will latch in place with one hand ..
Mine the latch just floats around everywhere . I need a light Blue repair kit. Have you done anything to fix this issue.

may be the latching mech is worn. the following may not be helpful in the repair process but anything dealing with safety equipment, I generally replace rather than repair.

If I'm reading this correctly, your issue is with the seat buckle not latching?

My first step would be to clean it out real good with brake cleaner, and then spray it good inside with a lock lubricant (dry graphite). Worked pretty well on my ol '76 Ram Charger.

It was quite nasty to see the black/brown sludge that flushed out with the brake cleaner.

WELL I'd say it just doesn't stand up where it needs to be .. For me to put the latch. into .
I think it latches ok when it's finally pushed into the clip.
But it doesn't hold in the correct spot for me to reach around & clip it.
...
DO THEY SELL Any thing that holds it hard into place .. SO It where it needs to be
when I'm ready to clip it in place.

I haven't a clue man... Can you sew a elastic strap onto the side of the seat? I know my 3rd and 4th gen seats have that.

I can't find my LMC Catalog for 1988 coverage . I wonder if they sell some plastic cover piece that go over the cloth section & hold it upright .

I think I've decided, this is what I'm going to do about my Seat belt dilemma.
I was on LMC WEB sight looking at their catalog.
There have seat belt extensions for sale. Seems likme only about 12$. & This piece is about a foot long. This section would allow me to lay this extra TAG loose End in the seat beside me. & Make it easier to get to the END THAT CLIPS ONTO the seat belt section that draws over my shoulder.
Guys this might make it esier for some of you other Guys who are getting long in the tooth & can't twist around as well as we once could.

OK a guy I bought a AC CONDENSER BOX From . FOR $100.00 WHICH i THOUGHT WAS RATHER HIGH FOR AN UNKNOWN Part . but I paid it & we shock hands .
Moved on.
Then about a month & half later his landlord Boots him from his rent house . Not surprised at how much crap he had around his rent house.
SO I Look up & here he comes. He brings me the cab that he pulled the AC Box from .
free Thanks . Then about a week later he brings me the doors ... Good Doors free . Now my AC Box is not so high priced .
I Forgot to look & see iF THERE IS A GOOD SEAT BELT in that cab. . I hope so. As the doors were in really good shape .

THIS One came up for me today.. But I guess I've just been living with that seat belt. But now the Seat belt has stopped rolling up on my 2000 D250.. iT'S JUST KIND of lock completely rolled up.
Can't believe I've got a 2nd seat belt issue.
& While searching how To fix this 2000 truck I BELIEVE i'VE FOUND what I need to fix My old 1988 truck. The one that started this thread.

This is a couple of years later but some young man
brought me a cab he's pulled from some project... I was looking it over a few days ago & I believe it has a better sleeve togo around the old seat belt. If it warms up & the wind stops blowing 40 mph I'll try & remove it .. & See if it helps ..
I just stumbled over this old post of mine .
