what are you all running in your Power Wagon rear diff?

But it doesn’t hurt to run it if it is already in the diff fluid.

Not sure this is a true statement for the PW. As I understand a LSD friction modifier will decrease the binding action of the helical gears and would decrease the traction performance.

GM has a TSB stating the same for the G80.

I don't think so..

That is not what the makers of our systems say. See post #9 seems like the manufacturer would now best.

Well, the AAM site specifically says that the helical gears require no friction additives... 'there are no clutch plates to wear and no friction additives are needed.'

Eaton has a very similar design and specifically says to avoid LSD additives.

However... The 2020 Ram 2500 Owner's Manual contradicts this...

I wonder if Ram is specifying the additive for NVH complain reduction and the component manufacturer is saying not to for optimal traction performance? After all, Ram is more concerned with happy owners not bringing their trucks into the shop for complaints.

yup I think the maker of the unit knows best. I actually misread your post.

The PW does not use the same type of LSD as a regular 2500. Since 2019 as I understand it the regular HD trucks switched from helical to clutch LSD.

I kind of wondered if that wasn't the case. On the Mopar site it doesn't differential between 2500 HD and PW. Does anyone have a PW specific FSM or OM?

The 2016 2500/3500 *does not* require LS additive. BTW, the rear locker functions as a LSD when unlocked.

I run Red Line 75-90W NS.
