If they are just a domestic front for straight from a Chinese distributor sales, it can take up to 3 months. For starters, they tend to make a lot of mistakes in China, and their mail service is also disorganized. They tend to rarely air ship when every penny counts, and wait until they have sufficient orders to throw it in bulk on a container ship over the sea. There's also customs and the Chinese always lie about the contents and its value which can cause holdups as well. And that was all pre-covid, which has likely put additional strains on resources and new regulations about ships from China. Chinese mail tracking outside the country also tends to be crap, and most of these Chinese companies genuinely have no idea where it is once it supposedly left China, and will just say "it comes when it comes", and if after 3 months it doesn't show up they usually refund your order if you paid by credit card (since that offers buyer protection).

That’s good and all, but it hasn’t even left their warehouse yet lol. I’d understand customs and shipping by sea, etc but it hasn’t even gotten to that point yet.

I am actually about to call right now and cancel

It will go quicker if you jump the gun and go straight to PayPal if you went that route, been down that path with Phoenix before...it will lead there eventually anyway.

Hey guys, I bought a unit from rhino a few months back. Thanks to y'all, youtube, and Google, I was able to get everything operational. However, my OCD is kicking in and the problem I'm having is with the a/c. Everything works well except for the digital thermostat. When changing temp it's stays 56 for about 7 pushes of the button. Then jumps to 69. Then jumps to 56 for 4 more pushes of the button then goes to 75 for 2 more pushes. Then once I have reached the max it will say HI. So has anyone had this problem and gotten the display to show the correct degree of the temperature when increasing and decreasing temp

Thanks for the input! I'll have to keep an eye out since the main driver of my desire to upgrade is the inclusion of Android Auto, so I'll need an 18' 4c unit and right now the only ones I see going on Ebay are $1k+. Sounds like something I'll just have to keep an eye out for. Thanks again for the information.
Get a hold of mike @M2mods in the vendor section on the forum. I 100% reccomend you getting your conversion harness from him if you decide to go with the 8.4 plus in many cases he has HVAC modules and 8.4 bezels plus other parts available for a good price. I also agree with SitKneelBend 100% to go with the 8.4 setup. There are also some other factors to the UAS/UAQ swap. You will need to add ATC Auto Temp Control in order for the HVAC to work properly but it doesn’t cost much more to add and it's nice to have. You may also need to install an interface between the radio and radio harness if your truck is a 13 to 15 depending on what options your truck has.

I second this. Dude's Deisel Performance buys radios in bulk, wholesale, from us and rebrands them. They sell both under the Linkswell name and their own "AlphaLynk" name. We ship radios to them pretty often, they're a good seller.

Anyone have a problem with no sound? I took a vacation and didn't start the truck for about 6 days, get back in this morning and no sound at all, radio, bluetooth, nothing. I googled and found a phoenixauto video showing an amp setting that can be accessed from the console button but my unit doesn't seem to have that, atleast I can't find it. I've got the new fast boot Px6, have had no trouble with it until now.

Man, what a thread lol

Does anybody have photos of what the HVAC controls screen looks like on the Linkswell Gen 4 screen?

I haven't seen a lot of talk on them, anybody have any feedback on the gen 4's? It looks like the best of both worlds with a PX6 and solid customer service and a bit more of a polished UI out of the box.

I'm in the air between spending the $$ on the Linkswell unit or trying to figure out pricing for a new bezel and grabbing an 8.4 unit. Seems like the trend it to grab the 8.4 unit for a deal and stay with a stock Ram option as opposed to rolling the dice with the third party chinese android solution. But I'll admit I'm leaning towards the larger screen and touch screen HVAC controls if it's executed well.

And for the love of God, please don't buy a kit from Infotainment. A number of their paying customers come to these forums for support. Buy from Mpgrimm2. He will sell you only what you need and make sure your kit works right.

Which brand? I know for Linkswell units, there should be a square icon that says "R" next to it in climate control.

So my unit ended up being replaced by linkswell and the new unit works good. I have the gen 4 and I’m liking it so far. I should retract any negative complaints I may have made or thought. Linkswell and the audio company gave me a good customer experience. Now with that said. Is there any upgrades or options or apps anyone could point me towards?

God, nobody ever buy from Phoenix Automotive.... im warning you right now.

Place my order August 8th, 2020.

Its September 22, 2020 and it still HAS NOT EVEN SHIPPED!

Ive been hung up on by Phoenix staff, ive been told there is nothing they can do, it will "ship when it ships", ive been told by 2 different employees that they would push for it to ship that day and they would call me back that day or the next, both of them never called me back, ever. Both of them were weeks ago, one was over a month ago, and radio still hs not shipped. There has not been a single update on my order since the day i placed it. I paid $780 some dollars 44 days ago and still have no clue what is going on with my order and nobody at Phoenix will tell me anything besides filling out that ****** ass auto-reply shipping inquiry form with my email, and telling me they contacted the shipping department. This is a joke.

Ive asked to speak to a supervisor and was told "there is no supervisor".

From what i have gathered from what they have told me, they are just a dropshipper/middle man. They do not own or touch the radios or have anything at all to do with them. They take your money, then they call a warehouse in China and place your order with that company. Now that company will ship your radio whenever they feel like it. My guess is Phoenix is taking orders, collecting that money, letting it sit for 1-2 months in a US bank account to gain interest, and then they place your order.

Im sorry but it does NOT take 44+ days to SHIP A RADIO that is most likely already in a box on a shelf!!!

This whole facade of "the warehouse needs to do a compatibility check for your vehicle and a quality test on the radio" is total ********. You could do 1,000+ compatibility checks and quality tests on 1,000 radios in 44+ days.

Their customer service is beyond bad, its insulting and aggressive and they flat out dont give a **** about your business. I have already reported them to the BBB and tomorrow morning i am calling to get my money back.

How does a company survive in 2020 by taking orders and not shipping them for 44+ days? I would understand if someone told me it was out of stock or on backorder, but they have made it clear many times that was not the case.

Please for the love of god, DO NOT ORDER FROM PHOENIX AUTOMOTIVE!
There are multiple stories like yours in this thread and it seems Phoenix will never change. I bought a 10.4" PX3 Tesla unit from them over a year ago. I knew buying from their china stock will take at least a month by reading other members. I was lucky enough to get a refurb unit they had here in the US. I received it in less than a week and has been working with no issues since then. As Sitkneelbend mentioned, you should go with the PayPal dispute.

Yea I’m actually in the middle of recording a video for YouTube that details my negative experience with Phoenix. I got my radio, it took exactly 60 days to get here. Once it shipped, it only took about 5 days to get here from China.

Sadly, I am not aware of any company selling these for the 09-12 Rams except Phoenix. I’m sure they can be found on AliExpress and honestly it would probably be better service and delivery times compared to Phoenix.

That would work. I did something similar.

Just thought I would stop by and say I did put in that A/B selector switch so I can view the travel trailer back up camera when the truck is in reverse. It actually worked out pretty good. I used this switch: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018MJMJY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and what was neat was it fits perfectly in the little notch in the top of the dashboard. I just poked a couple holes down into the radio area so I could connect the video connections. I did have to put some 90 degree adapters https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DRZH3L9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on the back of the switch so the video cables wouldn't be kinked along with an adapter from coax to RCA, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PD1RGQF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it works great. When I put the truck in reverse I just select which video feed I want.

On a sour note, I still haven't gotten the steering wheel audio controls to work. When I installed the A/B switch I completely disconnected the radio from the truck in hopes it would work. I'll get it some day.

I hope you and your family are well during all this mess.
