I have used 5W-30 in my truck since the first oil change. I know you prefer to stay 5W-20 but I still think the QSUD is a good choice if you want a synthetic that meets specs, keep it on your list to consider anyway.
QSUD is good stuff! Has a good amount of Moly, it’s cheap and readily available at Walmart. Not a fan of PUP personally and it’s hard to source locally and more expensive unless you find it on sale. Supposedly PUP has tri-nuclear MOLY thus the low MOLY count compared to QSUD, Redline and even Shell Gas Truck. My previous Ram had nothing but PYB and PUP in it for 32K miles and still had cam/lifter problems so that’s why I’m no longer a fan but plenty of guys still swear by it so take my opinion however you like. If you want my opinion give the QSUD a shot and see what you think.I may try that stuff, or I may just go back to PUP. How is PUP compared to QSUD? I thought about trying Royal Purple too. Does it pass Chrysler spec and Is api certified?

Any of y’all heard of this stuff? Looks like it’s API certified and has the Chrysler spec....
I switched from PUP to Amsoil SS.
It's imported.

I personally don't like RP because they are way too obsessed with the gimmicky purple dye. And it really doesn't stand out vs other off the shelf oils like PUP or QSUD. But they do have an API licenced oil with the MS-6395 spec.Any of y’all heard of this stuff? Looks like it’s API certified and has the Chrysler spec....
I’m also considering Royal Purple as well, and may just stick with a Amsoil filter since I read on either bob is the oil guy or 5th Gen rams that the RP and Amsoil 15k filter were internally identical. Thoughts?

The liquimoly seems to be a good oil, it's just imported. Other than that I don't know much about it....
That doesn’t answer my question....
Nope.
It was a comment.
And a damned good one.
Again, doesn’t answer my question a bit except maybe give me a little bit of idea you don’t do foreign or imported stuff. Duly noted.
I think you should stay with an API / MS6395 spec oil if you are worried about a failure while you're under warranty.

Try the QSUD 5W20, push come to shove you can substitute or add a little Lubeguard as needed. Only you and GOD will know. If your engine has problems, they’ll tear it down first and if it’s clean as a whistle inside they will not look any further and take care of it no problem.
It does, at least double maybe 2.5 times as much. Most PUP 5W20 is around 60-80 ppm and I believe QSUD 5W20 is around 150 or so. I only suggested the Lubeguard if you needed a touch more Moly. Its not a necessity if your engine is quiet without it. My engine was quiet as a church mouse on it I just wanted the extra protection of Redline. I have the lifetime warranty as well but would prefer not to ever use it.I thought that QSUD had quite a bit of moly in already?

So please Murph consider Nanny state oil will ya?
I wonder if that's the same Johnson that made adjustable tappets for flathead Fords? I used to have a Johnson tappet wrench for flatheads in my toolbox, but can't find it. Must have lent it out.Found a set of aftermarket lifters that claim to have "axial oiling". They're pricy but if they prevent cam/lifter failures they might be worth the $750 they want for them if a cam/lifter swap becomes necessary....
