I'm on the fence about regearing, I'm in the process of getting quotes. My question is, I favor 2nd gear a lot. Meaning, I manually drop her into 2nd gear. So I can avoid 2nd prime. What are the cons of doing this? My truck sits on 35x12.5x20s. I only do the 2nd gear drop when towing. Long term, short term. What am I looking at? Things to help my tranny, I have installed a 1 ton cooler. I'm also running amsoil full synthetic fluid. 2nd gear drop is only going up hill.

No cons to this that I know of, for the exact reason that you're doing it lol. I do it all the time and it's even easier now because I just tug back on the floor shifter.

Is your truck a manual or is the shifter in the center for your truck?

Unrelated, but I love your interior colors. Where'd you get those SRT-style chrome lock knobs? I've always like the black-and-chrome look from the early SRT-10's rather than the gray and black of 99% of later 3rd gens.

Since I can't find any plastic dye that perfectly matches the boring 2006 gray for the new door panels, I may decide to just dye em black like yours to match my carpet lol

Not actually black but really dark gray. The knobs, center stack bezel and door panels have satin silver accents and are all from SRT trucks.

And obviously the seats and console are 4th gen lol.
