I'm doing conversion as the front was damaged got replacement fenders, can't seem to get them close to perfect. Keep getting picky at point I had it then was hitting the door. I'm looking for any sort of help or lead cant find any good videos. Wanting know what the rule of thumb is.

It's dodge ram 2500, 2004.

Cheers thanks :)

Did you get capa certified fenders or cheap ones? Capa are within factory dimension the cheap ones use worn out dies that "look" close enough but are off when trying to align them.

Honestly I'm curious to hear the answer to this myself. My fenders are misaligned a little bit as well.

The service manual has a section on "Gap and Flush" that has those measurements.

Front door to fender in millimeters

Gap 5.0 ± 1.5- Parallel within 1.0
Flush 0.0 ± 1.5

1.5 of 5 is 30%. And they say plus/minus. I think you might be pickier than the factory will let you.
