Michelin Defenders x4. I replaced the badyear wrangler rsa's at 24k due to them being a dangerous tire in wet or snow.
I now have 29k on my Defenders and will possibly have to replace them this next year

Michelin LTX, similar Cooper Defenders, Falken Wildpeaks AT3W "C" rating (lil more aggressive/what I have), Toyo HT's. ALL 4 decent tires, close to similar wear and agility. Now comes down to personal preference and price point.

The point being price and yer use:

IMHO:

Strictly road Use: Michelin/Toyo
Some Off road: Falken/Cooper

(Have not seen Continentials or run ne in maybe 30 years.)

CAVEAT: Super Off road maniac: Lift/reset front end, lift kit/sway bar: BFG's or Nitro's.

DA BOIRD: all above IMVHO.

My Ride: MY 19 Bighorn: Stock:

I love my Yokohama Geolandar ATs. Decent performance in mud, snow, and rain as well as dry pavement, not noisy at least not to me. They don't excel at any of those but are good for an average Jane like me that does a little of everything. I've had a couple sets on my Dakota and put them on our dually as well.
Just another one to consider. 20200909_104910.jpg
They are white letter on the other side if you like that kind of thing.

I like the Michelin Defenders, but the Continentals are a quiet ride and last - my son has used both Defenders and Continental on his Jeep GC and says he likes the Continentals better and will go back to those if the Defenders ever wear out.

I have had the BFG Advantage TA on my Pacifica and wife's car - absolutely horrible in wet weather after a year or so.

I have had Defenders on my truck, liked them and currently have General HTS 60's on now - they are close overall, but I think the Defenders work better in wet/snow and any mud.

Which Continentals do you recommend?

I have no experience with them but extensive research and comments from others have me looking real hard at the Continental Terrain contact H/T. If I do not go with the Continental I will most likely choose the Michelin Defenders. Continental makes a Terrain Contact A/T as well for those who venture off road more frequently than I do.
I am surprised that the Terrain Contacts have not received mention in this thread.

I have the terraincontact AT's and am a repeat buyer, and will buy them a third time when these wear out.. But everyone has opinions. The michelin defender ltx is a good all purpose tire and a safe answer to basically any tire question other than hardcore off road or vanity tough guy appearance.

Just got rid of the stock Goodyears at 42500. Bought some Cooper Evolution HT 65,000 tread warranty . So far so good 5000 miles on them no road noise at all , good traction wet and dry , smooth ride , tracks well , good price and made in the USA . No snow yet in central Pa . I am sure they will do well in the snow . Would definitely recommend.

Is what he had and really liked them - they are only available at NTB.
But most any of the models for the 275/60/20 size should be similar and are rated good.

They were the quietest tire I have ever heard (or rather didn't hear) - even quieter than the Defenders.

My 19 Limited with ORG came stock with Falken Wildpeak A/T which I am replacing Friday with Michelin Defenders LTX M/S at Costco. They are $150 off through today 11/30 at Costco $940.17 out the door lifetime rotation and balance etc included.
The Falkens were a problem from the beginning The dealer RF balanced 3X replaced one tire but they still feel out of balance and definitely flat spot after sitting a day or two. Traction has always been good and they were great in the rain. But I know the defenders will ride better and maintain balance better.
I put as set on My wife's Honda Odyssey and she even noticed the difference over stock Bridgestone's.
