Aftermarket Tire PSI?

I switched to 275/65/20 Firestone Destination XTs 10 ply with a max pressure of 80 cold. You guys with a similar setup, what PSI do you run?

I had 285/60 20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers (10 ply E rated). I ran them between 42-43 psi.

Go to youtube & search " tire chalk test". You should go to walmart and get the kids sidewalk chalk to do it. Basically you put a big swath of chalk on the tread and drive it straight for a hundred feet or so. Reduce pressure if its worn away in the center but not towards the edges. Increase if the center isn't worn off.

If you're trying to match the specs on your placard with the same factory size but LT, you'll need about 48psi.

Thanks for the replies. 40s seems a little low to me. That's a little more than half the max air pressure. I'll start there and adjust as needed.

My situation is the same. I run mine @45 psi. Above that the ride is a little louder and rougher. When I tow my camper I air up to 60 psi. I'm going on advice from a BF Goodrich engineer for what it's worth.

FYI, I like mine the best at 48 psi cold.
