A forum member had asked me to post the cost of my recent build, here are the numbers...I am sure I am leaving out a few odds and ends...
D-1sc procharger kit $7000
397 stroker kit. $2700
JBA LT headers and Y pipe $1000
Bore/deck block $1000
221/238 cam $725

It would be 18k to get even, then another 18K to teach me a lesson. Hahah
You got that right. If my wife gets, lets say $100 gift she'll spend that 100 4 or 5 times at least. It's the old "I used the money from my birthday" so if she caught me on a 18k spree, I'm screwed.

Wow! Great write up! Really puts a perspective to it. Any thoughts on where that would put you on a 1/4mi?

Builds cost a crazy amount. That's why I opted to buy the foxbody 6k turn key ran 10.30s. sold it Friday for 10k. Paid to have a deck built at our camper now the search for a cheap fast car again lol.

Wow! Great write up! Really puts a perspective to it. Any thoughts on where that would put you on a 1/4mi?

I can see high 10's if not I am going TO BE FURIOUS. LOL. If I hook well and get decent weather my best guess is 10.95 @ 128mph. If not I'll throw a small shot of nitrous down her throat hahahah

I don't go to the track often and this last year none at all. So my data is dated.. last full pass was a 11.66 and if I remember 118mph. I up the boost and and made a partial pass and ran 1.358 60'.. blew the charge pipe. Red is a street truck and doesn't have a cage so tech always watching. They actually gave me a break and told me to leave because I was using antifreeze. Heads can run up the bill considerably in the $2500+ range and IMO worth the cost. The engine is 397 Arrington stroker. My spare is an unfired 422 stroker with edelbrock heads. Obvious I'm addicted. 20190504_143404.jpg 20180617_105418.jpg

On the 11.66 pass do you remember the boost psi you were running? And what was the 60' on that pass? Also what size torque converter? Thanks for info!
