Probably a dumb question, but are there any aftermarket touchscreen radios that don't require cutting the metal bracket inside the dash? There's a few new "floating" style touchscreens as well as some single-din touchscreens - do they all require cutting?

Not sure the answer but I was a bit worried about it and it literally took me 15 seconds with sawzal. Maybe some of the more shallow units, I know my boat HU is very shallow and wouldn't hit. Granted its not touch screen and is single din.

I recently installed a Kenwood double-DIN media receiver in my 2015 Wrangler. This unit is only about half as deep as the “normal” aftermarket double-DIN receivers. Previously I had a Pioneer receiver in the Jeep and had to remove that rear bracket for it to fit. (I’m not a fan of cutting things up.). I reinstalled the bracket and the new head unit clears it with room to spare. The only caveat is that it doesn’t play CD’s. Not an issue for me, as I’m generally playing music from my phone.

I worried too but with my dewalt oscillating tool it took 15 seconds to cleanly cut through it. It was like a hot knife through butter

Several shallow units out there now.but some don't have as much power out put.
