Would like to find a bigger fuel tank for my ram 2500 6.4 hemi. Anyone know where i could find one? Looked all over and can’t find one. Only thing i can find is in the bed bed re fueling systems. Would like a extended gas tank replacement.

You and everyone else. I have looked and came up empty ( pun intended )

from what I read auxiliary tanks in the bed can be kinda sketchy with gasoline and I think i read something about a law against it. When towing I’m just going to carry 2 5 gallon jugs and put those in on one of the kids per breaks that’s every hour lol

Why won’t the diesel titan fuel tanks work? Just curious.

Auxiliary tanks are legal for non-commercial use. The rules require the fuel to be drawn from the top of the tank which requires a pump. Gravity feed is not permitted for gasoline. Here is the setup. Nothing sketchy about it. The tank is placarded for gasoline and when plumbed correctly is legal for non-commercial use except in CA where they don't trust people to do it right so they ban them.

All those funky spring loaded gas nozzles we have on 5 gallon cans is due to CA. Apparently folks there can't refuel their lawnmower correctly without setting themselves on fire. So the great nanny state decided to mandate nozzles that don't actually dispense fuel.

Well actually the CARB cans are just having the opposite effect. The idea was to limit vapor emissions but the contraptions to prevent it cause plenty of fuel to be spilled. Maybe some TV station should go and get the head of CARB, give him/her a CARB compliant can and ask him/her to fill a lawn mower, or for bonus points fill a car with it. :D

Titan avoids the EPA/CARB quagmire by limiting their offerings to Diesel only. Some other companies put the usual "off-road only" disclaimer on their products but technically you could fail visual in CA with a different tank.

Somebody who has seen a few different gas and diesel tanks might be able to say what the differences are. They do have different part numbers for the same year. Looking at pics it appears the fuel pump is mounted differently.

I had to do the same thing. I carry two 5 gallon jugs with me and dump them in if we stop for a bathroom break or something. That gets me an extra 80 miles down the road. The other thing that sucks is trying to find a gas station that can accommodate my truck with a 30ft trailer. Even along the interstates it can be difficult some times.

I have been looking for 4 years and can't find any type of extra capacity tank for gas engines. I love everything about my truck except for the small gas tank.

Yessir - another lack-of-continuing-mission overreach (& I'm not anti-government per se).

All my homies toss the valve spout and buy aftermarket non-valve spouts which are advertised as "not for consumer use" hahahaha. Maybe by law they won't ship into CA, I don't know. But we all use them here in the midwest. fyi

I got a good laugh from people in CA can't fill a mower without setting themselves on fire. Hope not really happening, but quite the laughing buzz.

Well that is the one advantage to my trailer being a toy hauler. I always keep the gas tank half full with 15 gallons of gas and an empty 5 gallon tank in the storage. I can drive with percent if mind I will never be stranded on some desolate highway.

I know the feeling I have a long bed and my bumper pull is right at 37’. The swing to get into fuel stations can get interesting!

I keep a minimum 1/4 in the toy hauler and I keep 2 full 5 gallon cans.
Kids and wife want to stop for per breaks constantly so I just dump the cans in lol. If we get super screwed use the toy hauler fuel.

So, if I understand correctly, as long as it is fed from the top of the tank by a pump its legal. is there any requirement that it be bed mounted? IE: why can't you fab, buy, repurpose a tank to mount in place of the spare and plumb it the same as this. the only difference is location. What am I missing?

Hold on to your fuel nozzles folks. I have done some extensive measuring / research on my co workers 21 2500 HD cclb. The frame between the front and rear tires is the same as my 16 2500 HD cclb, he has the factory 50 gallon tank.

The tank will fit my truck like a glove. The only thing I haven't figured out yet is if the fuel pump from my 16 will be able to be installed without issue. But I don't see why it wouldn't.

What really sucks is the $800 dealer price. OUCH !!!!
