Splines are chewed up on my current 2.5 ton jack. Any suggestions on what size and brand to hold a PW?
I don’t think I would trust anything from harbor freight nor do I want to spend $900 for a snap on...

Thanks!

Check Costco if there is one in your area. I have a 3 ton Purchased from them and it works well and has a good Review.

I purchased a 3 1/2 ton Powerbuilt after my Harbor Freight didn't last more than a few years (leaked) and it's much better built and has lasted a decade longer so far. However, my Powerbuilt isn't as well built as my 3 1/2 ton Napa Professional that I purchased soon afterwards due to I needed two floor jacks. Everything about it is stronger, beefier, larger, and better quality.20210122_114456.jpg

If you have a Northern Tool store close to you, their ARCAN 3.5 ton is on sale for like $145.00. I've had mine for 4 years now and it's been great. When I bought it, I also grabbed a 3 ton, and it's also still working like new.

Nice. That would make a great trail jack kit. Not too terrible of a price for a ready to go kit either. Bookmarked for possible future purchase. I wouldn’t want to use that as a service jack though.

OP made a good choice for a service jack with the Carlyle 3.5 ton from NAPA.

The Daytona yellow super duty 3 ton jacks from harbor freight are actually pretty good jacks. Made in the same factory as one of Snap On jacks and Snap On actually sued them over it. This only applies to the yellow Daytona super duty’s not all of the Daytona jacks though.

Should go without saying but whatever jack you use please make sure you use properly rated jack stands that are in good condition.

Agreed. Wasn't clear from the original post if it was for shop, trail, or recovery use.

There's also the ProEagle if you need extra height out of a shop jack or need to roll the jack across rough surfaces.

You can't beat a "Hi-Lift" jack for off-road stuff.
Have any of you guys tried the off-road jack that I've see at Tractor Supply? Is is the type you'd buy at "China Freight" ? or better than HF...
