Does it matter what the engine is as long as the gearing is correct in the rear differential? I keep getting talked out of a rear end cause cause I have a v6 n not a v8! Yeah I have to switch the yoke but so what! Any help is appreciated.

Match the gears and all is good. If it's a complete assembly it'll be good to go. If it doesn't have the brake assembly, get one that matches either your square or round brake mounting flange.

Same 9¼ rear regardless. If you're 2wd then pick whatever ratio you want. If you're 4wd it needs to match the front ratio.
