Anyone Remove the RAM on the tailgate and get some sort of retro decal?

I figured blending the letters in with the existing paint color might not be as noticeable. Plenty of colors to choose from, even my Granite is available. Yet on a 2016 this isn't an issue.

I'll end up finding another tailgate someday. Problem is I'll have to have it rhino lined again. My ram letters are starting to peel off but I don't care enough to have the dealer replace them. I proabably should seeing it's under warranty still I 'll go over it top to bottom and see if I can find anything and bring it in right before its up.

It’s cool, changes up the look of the rear which is what I was going for. I wanted the rear of my truck to be different from every other Ram and I’ve yet to see another Ram in person with this tail gate piece.

So the chrome ram head in the center of the tailgate is pinned on? Hetting teafy to dechrome my Ram.

Not only does the RAM head on the tailgate have pins but it is slightly recessed into the tailgate. You'll need body work if you want a smooth tailgate. If you don't like chrome there is blacked out RAM heads or a ton of custom badges

Me? My rear bumper was replaced immediately after installing this tail gate piece. My front bumper is cracked and I have a brand new freshly painted one sitting and waiting to go on my truck once it’s warmer out

Nice new bumper along with my black 5” Carven Tips and the Carven Progressive Series muffler. Within 24hrs I installed 13+ oem led tails, Air Designs tailgate Appliqué, Iconik Tailgate Badge, Fox Racing Hitch Cover, New Rear Bumper, Carven 5” tips and Carven Progressive Muffler.

And that was just the rear end mods lol I did a ton of other stuff too in this window like 12.1” Phoenix Tesla Style Radio, 2015 Sport Leather Heated and Cooled seats, Floor Console swap, Kicker CS2 speakers all around. Was a fun 2 days of modding. I have a pile of stuff just accumulating cause it’s winter and too cold to work outdoors so come spring my truck will be getting a ton of stuff added.

Probably have to find a good body shop to fill the holes and repaint the tailgate, if they are held in by tabs or something. The 4Gen had the Ram's head shield and not only the tabs in holes, but the recess stamped into panel. I thought about just having it cut out, replace with patch, and repaint when I was de-badging.

Placing a decal over holes will show through the decal like dimples and some kid with nothing better to do might shove a stick into one to see if a hole is really there.

There were no tabs/holes when I swapped out the tailgate badge.

Unless the previous owner of your truck had the tailgate skinned, there is holes under the Ram head and the RAM letters.
The other badges like the BigHorn/Limited/Laramie/4X4 do not have any pins or tabs.
