Saturday morning it was in the high 20s F
Got in, fired it up and stated to back out, couldn't see mirror so instinctively went to lower drivers window.
Frozen shut and the motor made noises for 10 or 15 seconds. A little worried at this point.
During the drive to the gas station, after vehicle warmed up and window thawed, it slammed almost completely open without me touching it.
Scared the crap out of me as it really slammed open.
Tried to close it, it would go all the way up then lower back to about halfway.
Tried again, same thing.
Finally bumped it closed.
Tried it again later in the day, same thing.

What do you all think is broken at this point? Not sure this is something I can attempt to fix myself?

Is it still cold out? If there is ice in the track, the window will detect that as an obstacle and stop going up. The third (I think) time you attempt to close the window, it will ignore the obstacle detection protocol and raise up anyway.

Common issue. The window attaches to the regulator with plastic clips that are prone to breaking when the window is frozen shut.

Ok, common problem, I will take it in and have them fix it.
I won't make that mistake again, I hope.
Thanks.

I did try it again later in the day when it was 40 and the same thing happened.

Just a quick update on this. Turns out the window just pulled out of the clips.
After I had the door panel off I could see that and I popped it back into the clips, they weren't broke.
Not to self, don't open the window till it's good and defrosted.

I think I have the same issue. Did you have to pull more than the main plastic interior door panel part off? When I pulled that off, there’s a white material (sticker like) over the metal door frame. How do I get access to see if the clips came off or are broken?

My challenge is on how to get to it! I shouldn’t have to take apart any of the ‘metal’ part of the door, right?!

I've never had the door panel off a ram but there's usually a vapor barrier between the panel and the internal components inside the door. Its usually a sheet of plastic that can be peeled back to gain access.

I just had this happen last week. Once you get the main door panel off, there is a plastic panel that holds all the door components. There's a small rubber/plastic access panel that you just pull open and you can access the one track. To get to the other you need to remove the door speaker. Once that's done you can have some one hold the window up while you get the clips back in place and slide it all back together.

Iirc at some point the went to metal clips instead of plastic, or vice versa.

Honestly not sure which is better... Plastic breaks but if the metal ones hold on longer will it cause other issues
