Just wanted to thank all you geniuses here who made me look like a genius lol! Added remote start to my buddy's newly acquired 2014 Ram 2500 ST and programmed a new key for it. Even though I knew it could be done, we are both still amazed! Thanks guys for making this all possible. Going to add remote start to a coworkers truck this week. Has a yone done remote start for other Dodge family vehicles like Jeep? Are the procedures the same? Also is there a way to add remote start to manual trans vehicles? Does the ECM recognize if it's in gear and not allow remote start if it is?

some jeeps are electronically the same others are different
JK jeeps are similar to the PRE 2009 RAM / CARAVAN
the JL jeep is related to the RAM MK 4 platform and should be similar to our rams
grand Cherokee is related to our RAMS
the NON GRAND Cherokee is closer to the DART and is FIAT related so different

as far as I know the "JL" should be the same procedure as the RAMS just requiring a different hood pin and I believe it is an actual PIN switch not in the LATCH like on the RAMS
the JL I had for a month had 2 pins next to each other and HAD remote start - you also will need a different bypass cable

as for stick shift I doubt there is a neutral detect - I have never seen a sign of one AND have not looked and presently don't own a stick FCA
I would look around on global sites to see if remote + stick is offered in other countries OR check the forums for the car in question BUT IMHO this forum is BETTER than any I could find for JEEPS as far as ECM "modding" / AlphaOBD

Has anyone disabled the MDS via AlphaOBD? I'm curious how it works out. I have a 19 PowerWagon and don't really care for saving that extra mpg...

Can't do that with Alfa, you have to get an unlocked PCM and a tuner to do this.

Hey guys! I’m having a few issues. I have a 2020 1500 Classic, am using AlfaOBD on Windows with the MX. I can’t update the firmware on the MX because I have an iPhone, so that might solve my issues, but I’m not sure. I also got the bypass harness from Kaodtech and noticed that my CAN module had multiple connections available for it, not only one. I just plugged it to the first connection to the left of each CAN module and it seems to be working fine as I was able to adjust my engine hours after upgrading to the 7” EVIC and select my preferred DRL after upgrading from quads to projectors. Now to the issues: for the life of me, I can’t change the mileage. Tried multiple times, followed all the steps, waited for the check engine light to stop blinking to hit start, waited 5 mins before turning the key back to run and nothing works although Alfa says the procedure was successful. Issue #2 is something I can live with but would love to get resolved. I installed LED bulbs all around my truck with no issues, except from the license plate that is throwing a light out message on the cluster. I changed it to LED license plate bulb-YES and the warning is still there. Any advice on how to solve these issues?
EDIT: just realized there’s an update for Alfa. I have v. 2.2.5 and v. 2.2.8 is available. I will update but it’s past midnight here. Will try updating the mileage again tomorrow.

I just got a 2017 Premium EVIC and put it in my 19 classic Regular Cab. I can't get the odometer to correct. I've watched a few youtube videos but the instructions in Alpha seem a little different. I put in the new odometer and it says to turn the key off for 30 seconds and then back on and wait for the cluster to finish self checking and then hit ok. After a few seconds the screen resets and says Continental with a logo of some sort for a little while then it comes back with the old odometer and Alpha says failed. Any ideas? I do have the bypass cable, this is the first issue I've had with Alphaobd and I've done several upgrades. Try using the 3.5 inch option

I tried that, no luck but I have made some progress. Somewhere around the 15th or 20th attempt I had started varying how long I left the key off and how soon I hit "OK" after turning it back on. I guess I hit the magic combination because it finally took. I took me 3 or 4 tries to get the idle hours in and I was feeling cocky. Now I'm stuck trying to get the total engine hours in. I'm taking a break now, very frustrated at the moment.

Back a few weeks ago I had the same msg about none or corrupt ECM data. What happened is that I forgot to put the bypass back in after I thought I had to take my truck to the dealer. Check your bypass cables, maybe one is not seated correctly. I had a previous bypass cable that only used one of the connectors. I was able to do some of the simple stuff, but I was told that if I would be doing other advanced changes, it would not work. Maybe on of the cables is not seated right and is used in the EVIC changes. Just a thought

Ok, gave it an hour, not sure if it was for the trucks benifit or mine, but I got it on the second try this time. This has been a frustrating experiance for sure. How important is it to enter the vin number, not sure I can take much more of this excitement.

Hey everyone, I have been playing with Alpha in my truck, so far I have adjusted my tire size, (and reset all the ABS issues associated) Adjusted the TPMS thresholds, and programmed an additional Key Fob. My next task is to enable the lights on my Tow Mirrors. (the small marking lights on the housing) The mirrors have wires that plugged into the door module so I'm assuming I can enable them in Alpha.
I have also seen the wiring Kits by JHD and the full harness kit to enable them as running lights and signals. Is this necessary to get my lights to function?

I finally found in Alpha the Vehicle Configuration settings that were mentioned in this thread, However, My mirrors are not power folding. (defrost and power adjustments, marking light and puddle light) Which of the following do I set to enable them?

Doors: Mirror Turn Signal Present
Select “yes”

Doors: Electro-chromatic driver mirror present
Select “yes”

Doors: Electro-chromatic passenger mirror present
Select “yes”

Doors: Mirror Approach Lights Present
Select “yes”

I was hoping for something simple like "Tow Mirrors Present" but that doesn't exist from what I can see.

My other question is do I need an adapter cable to set these options? Alpha shows the door module in year range with a cable adapter next to it.

If your truck did not have folding mirrors originally, did you change the door modules when adding folding mirrors? I believe the modules themselves are different for power-fold.

And...what bluetooth OBD adapter are you using? if its the OBD-MX or MX+, you wont need a wiring adapter to connect to any module that shows a harness icon next to it, the MX/MX+ can pin-swap automatically to connect.

@MartyZ the Electro-chromatic setting is for the auto-dimming mirrors, none of the tow mirrors have that. It's usually found on one or both of the regular mirrors and has a thick plastic lip around the mirror itself.

My mirrors are not power folding. They are identical to the mirrors I removed except that I can manually flip them up for tow mode and the new ones have lights on them.
I'm using the OBD MX+.

So how about the Mirror signals present, is that the signal on the mirror surface or the light on the housing?
And the approach light, is that the puddle light?

I realize there probably is not much harm to be done if I enable the wrong option here I'm just trying to eliminate wasted attempts or breaking my configuration too much.

@MartyZ both of those settings should be what you need to get the puddle lights and turn signals working. There should also be a Tow Mirrors present setting so the directional movement changes when the mirrors are flipped up.
When in doubt check the Known Working list found in the first post of this thread: https://www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/
