Just heard on the radio that Jeep might get rid of the "Cherokee" name as it's offensive.....

Here's some more on it. I just cut this out of the daily newsletter I get in my inbox every morning.

Chevy Apache, Dodge Dakota, Winnebago...the US auto industry has a long history of using Native American monikers and imagery. But yesterday, the Cherokee Nation said it's had enough.

Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. requested that Jeep stop using his tribe's name on its Cherokee and Grand Cherokee SUVs, which together account for more than 40% of the brand's total sales.

  • The Cherokee Nation has criticized the appropriation of Native American culture before, but this is its first official request for change.
Jeep said its vehicle names "celebrate Native American people for their nobility, prowess, and pride." Hoskin disagrees. "The best way to honor us is to learn about our sovereign government, our role in this country, our history, culture, and language and have meaningful dialogue with federally recognized tribes on cultural appropriateness," he told Car and Driver.

Zoom out: In the last year, amid national conversations around racial justice, Land O'Lakes dropped a Native American woman from its packaging, and Cleveland's MLB team and DC's NFL team are changing their names.

It's an easy five minute read and a good way to start the morning :)

Can’t we just tell them no? How far are we gonna let these people go before we finally grow a backbone and say no?

I am actually Cherokee. Not much at all, but according Elizabeth Warren I should identify as a full-blood Indian no matter how much blood relation I have. This guy most likely just wants the publicity and kickback $$$, nothing more

Well last night i spent 5 minutes wave installed the 9 drive throttle controller in my 19 classic 3.6L
Anyone that doesn't know, the 9 drive is the smart mans version of the severly overpriced pedal commander.
At a total investment of $77 CDN, overnight shipped to my door.

Wow, talk about wake up the 3.6L
Truck has really decent power, surprisingly more than i expected from a v6, but that hesitation when you first hit the throttle is disheartening.
Enter 9 drive..... Instant response, 3 modes eco, sport, and race, with 9 sensitivity levels in each.

Last night I played around in mode 2, sport mode, 2.6 was default out of the box. Right away, noticed a huge difference in response. 2.9 is crazy, and personally, i think a bit too much for Daily driving in traffic acer winter driving in fresh snow.
Mode 3, race mode, on 3.1, it's hard for the rear wheels not to chirp before traction control kicks in with even the slightest touch of the throttle.

I am having my chrome clad wheels painted or powder coated. The chrome clad center cap obviously doesn't work. It measures out at around 2.5 inches. Did anyone actually find a center cap that works? The only thread I found the link didn't work. I don't care if it has the ram or not on it. I personally like these, but I think they too are too small.

I was at work and my wife caught this. Back story, neighbor sold a shipping container and was delivering it. Not sure who the truck belongs to, but it went about a mile from one place to another. While the wife took the video, one of the dogs went nuts barking and the rest of the dialog is not family rated haha
