TFL video of 2019 Ram 2500 Mega Cab with 1,530 pound payload capacity. Not much different than Retired's 2020 Level 1 PW at 1,565 pounds.

View at 8 minutes and 30 seconds of video.

Honestly I think that’s wrong, somewhere a button got crossed and yours is pulling capacities for your truck before the PW package was factored in. There’s no way in hell that a PW suspension can hold 3,100 lbs of weight and stay level. It just can’t.
did it come with a winch, front and rear lockers and sb disconnect? if so you have a one of a kind PW. I would love to know what the tags on your coils say?

It didn't come with anything pw related besides the sticker on the tailgate. My guess is they just slapped the sticker on a 3/4 ton tradesman jacked up the price and called it a tradesman pw

I looked up the rear coils and they're actual 3/4 ton coils. Now it sits the same as a 3/4 ton. The previous owner had a leveling kit with a 2" rear spacer but I took that out so I didn't need as much of a drop for our camper.

This is hilarious. Because just yesterday i ran into two people.

First guy came up to me while i was pumping gas. Told me i had a nice truck. Then proceeded to ask why i didnt get it with the Cummins. i told him the PW doesnt have this option. He was adamant it did, and that his dealer had priced him out for one.

Second guy said approached me while i was at CVS. Got talking to him for a while in the parking lot. Eventually ended up in kind of the same situation.. Apart from this guy had his truck in the lot.

So for 20 minutes this guy was explaining to my simple mind that he got a PW with the cummins in it, and "It was a beast off road". So i checked it out.... no winch, no swaybar disconnect. but did have the Bilstein shocks.

I honestly didnt have the heart to point it out.. but im pretty sure his dealer gave him the run around, and sold him a 2500 tradesman with OFF ROAD package under the guise of it being a power wagon.

I felt sorry for the guy. He was talking his truck up so much, and the whole time im just thinking.... but it isnt a power wagon dude..

No wonder he looked at me like a deer in headlights when i started talking about having locking front and rear diffs. i guess most people just dont do their research.

back in the day any dodge truck was referred to as a power wagon. Back when men were men and cut big trees down every chance they got lol.

All DODGE 4x4 trucks were Powerwagon.

Then in 81 all Dodge 4x4 trucks were Power RAM.

Then the Power went away for a generation and a few years into the 3rd.

Then the Powerwagon came back as the most capable 4x4 offered.

I love Mopar trucks.

That is funny. I know mine isn't a true pw and I didn't buy it because I thought it was. People ask me how I like my powerwagon and I say it's just a tradesman 3/4 ton. Which then I get a puzzled look so I tell them it doesn't have lockers a winch etc. Puzzled look continues.

I needed a bigger truck since the wife and I planned on getting a camper and the 05 1500 ram we had I know was not going to be a good fit for the camper the wife wanted. Surprisingly the dealer I bought it from had it cheaper then a lot of the other 3/4 tons with roughly the same mileage. The others were higher up trim levels but they could have played the pw card and jacked the price up and I'm sure someone would have fell for it.

That's even weirder, because Ram wouldn't decode it as a 2500 Tradesman Power Wagon, it would just say tradesman. Mind sharing your VIN with me in PM so I can pull a window sticker? I'm genuinely curious as to what kind of truck you have lol

Yeah I think ram did some screwy with the truck as far as what it is. On the build sheet it just says ram 2500 st crew cab 4x4. The sticker that was on the window at the dealership I got it from says tradesman power wagon. I consider it a tradesman and I'm 99.9% sure that's all it is. Doesnt really matter to me. It does everything I ask it to and it's been a great a truck. Now if my son was 12 years older and had his license I would have probably got a real pw to find some mud and trails with him.

2017, Level 1 with sunroof, Alpine stereo and Ramboxes. Must be the subwoofer??
I am going to say the sunroof adds a bunch of weight and the ramboxes. the Subwoofer is not all that heavy.

I have a cap about 350 lbs it helps with the I sometimes hahah my old quad without the topper but I us a riser to raise the quad to close the tailgate. add a trailer with a sidexside and things got interesting.the coil springs are great for articulating but not so much for heavy loads hence coils for pw and leafs for regular 3/4 tons .same axels sans lockers I believe use airbags maybe for more stability

Regular 3/4 tons have coils too. Just with a higher spring weight

Your truck is a Tradesman with a PowerWagon trim package. Along the same lines my Outdoorsman has the BigHorn package but when the build sheet is looked up it shows it's a SLT.

No it’s not, not in his case. I am familiar with the Tradesman with the Power Wagon package. His is not that. It’s just a straight up tradesman. He doesn’t have winch, lockers, articulink, 4.10’s, any of it. His has 3.73’s and an electronic shift transfer case. Not a PW.
