If you have auxiliary backup lights, what did you go with and how have you wired them?

I was thinking of low wattage LED’s and tying into the reverse light wiring.

Lot of different threads and people sharing ideas and lights. Smartest thing to do is use a "Y adapter" off the back of the trailer 7 way connector. Curt makes one.

Use that to "tap" into the backup circuit in a clean precise way that is 100% reversible. Most people seem to either cut rear bumper holes or make stealth brackets off the undercarriage.

I just wired mine from the battery through a relay and a switch on my dash. That way if i needed to work on something behind my truck it wouldn't have to be in reverse to get the extra light. Also comes in handy when someone is riding your bumper.

Rigid in the bumpers. Used aftermarket trailer wiring harness.

That building picture really gives an idea of what is possible. Wow. The height of flush bumper mount has to help with the output. I just am not sure if I can cut the holes haha.
Ya I'm not to sure about cuttin the holes in the bumper either

Well the Rigids are small, and very powerful, and pop on anytime I was in reverse. Well worth it, IMHO But understand, I was worried too. But not after they were in.

No hole concerns here. My new bumper has holes with mounting tabs behind them. I do have the aux switches which make perfect sense to use. Duh...

Thanks for helping me to quit over thinking this.

I used the rough country cube lights. You have several options but I would pull power from the reverse lights on your trailer harness and then run that to a relay if you want the lights only when you back up. I installed mine on a switch so I could use them even when I wasn’t in the truck for unhooking and hooking up my camper at night.

I use the Baja Designs S1 with their amber wide cornering lenses.

Here is an idea of how it looks on in the above pictured bumper mount.

Put on my front bumper to see how the pattern reflects on a hillside.

I bought these through Online vendor alternativeoffroad.com. I recommend.

Edit: wired using BD harness and BD extensions to switch in cab.
